In this video, we're diving into a stunning performance of "The Prayer" by none other than the dynamic duo, Lara Fabian and Michael Bolton, live from Las Vegas! 🎤✨
If you're not already familiar with these two, let me give you a quick rundown. Lara Fabian, born as Lara Sophie Katy Crokaert, is a Belgian-Canadian pop singer and songwriter who's made a massive impact on the music scene since her debut in 1986. She's one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time and her talent was recognized early on when she was enrolled in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels at just eight years old! 🎵🌟
On the other side of the stage, we have Michael Bolton (born Michael Bolotin). This pop rock, soft rock, and blue-eyed soul singer started recording in 1975 and has been an influential figure in music ever since. He's known for his soft voice that can still deliver powerful performances and has been involved in charitable work and social activism throughout his career. 🎶🎸

The pianist that introduces them is the legendary David Foster who composed The Prayer and so many other legendary hits. The event in Las Vegas was built around him and all the performers were invited by him.
He said introducing Lara to another song that she is at the top of the heap of the greatests he has ever worked with … and he worked with all the greatests 😂
Michael Bolton also is an absolute fan of Lara. He said after this event:

Well Carlo, I understand what you are saying (and many others too). yes, it is about emotions, but as a whole it is about human experience what Lara puts into song (she fulfills the words with personal meaning). That makes her so great as a singer.

There have been many performances. of this song, including by much more famous artists, but this one, for many reasons, but particular the immaculate timing between the two singers, is undoubtedly the reference.

Don't thank of this as a Christmas song but instead a lesson in voice and vocal control and harmony with tones plus whistle notes and wavering echoing runs I guarantee that so call mature singer wishes to be able to have such control this is from last Christmas so here is ANGELICA HALE doing WHITE CHRISTMAS please listen

Hard to compare this version with the Andrea Bocelli/Sara Brightman and Celine Dion/Josh Groban. I must say though that Lara and Celine are very similar in voice.
I think thatLara and Céline just have somewhat similar voices in the middle register: her higher tones are very different, being Celine's voice pearcing, unlike Laras. Andrea Bocelli and Céline Dion are great singing this together and Josh Groban and Charlotte Church, as well. Lara Fabian and Michael Bolton sound great together, even though Michael has a terrible accent when singing in Italian!
