    Funny how you feel qualified to say that some opening trap is bad when engine says its still better for you even if your opponent somehow plays the best moves.
    The first trap for example has been used against titled players successfully even GM’s.
    For most people these traps do work. The avarage player isnt 1600. Their opponents will not play 10 moves perfectly against some fried liver sideline.

    The problem with opening traps is that you begin to play 'Hope chess'. And if things don't go according to plan, you end up having an unpleasant game

    2:03 ... when I put it to stockfish, it said it is only an inaccuracy(-0.4). only Bg5 is an excellent move others are best, great or brilliant. I have still willing to sac 0.5 advantage for a trap though I am not going to play that opening, I am playing e4.
    7:25 Lichess have that and Ba4 is indeed the most played move in that position(31% or 1.38 million played. second most played move Qf3 have 27% or 1.22 million played)
    after h3, Nf3 is the most played move(84% 589K played since h3 only have 701K). e4 (81%/475K), most played move are Qe2 (with 37%/176K) and Ne5 (31%/148K). Be6 (16%/28K played. Be7 is the most played move with 54%/95K played), the most played move is Ne5 (54%/15K) and second most played move is 🤔 Nd4?? (with 20%/5.5K played). Qd4 (78%/11K.), Bxc6+ is the most played move (70%/8.2K played) and second most played move is Nxc6 (29%/3,999 played (Idk why it is 999)). Nxc6 (100%/8.1K. 🤣100 players resigned after Bxc6 and we don't talk about other moves, only 3,2,1,1 time played), Nxc6 is the most played move (97%/7.94K played) and well Qb5 have only 218 played and 🤔🤔🤔 ??Qxe4 was play once?. Qc5 (93%/7.34K played), most played move is Qa6 (79%/5.76K), second most played move is Nxa7 (14%/1.04K). Bc8 (58%/3.32K played and second most played is Bc4 with 10%/575 times played which have its win rate went from 78% for black to 65% for white), Qa4 is the most played move(69%/2.28K), b4 is the second most played move(24%/786). Bd7(99%/2.26K others well 5,3,2,2,1,1 times played), the most played move is b4 (32%/697), other moves are O-O (18%/399), d4 (18%/388) and Nc3 (14%/308). and after that I don't think I need to say anything but black is just completely winning.
    7:44 stockfish said white plays all the best move so even if white didn't blunder Ba4, it is still an equal position.

    Honestly that last "trap" seems fine. From what I know black made all the main line two knights defense moves until white blundered, and memorizing a way to punish a common blunder is fine. If the opponent doesn't fall for it you just played a main line opening.

  • @unholy8935
    @unholy8935 Před měsícem

    Well yeah but some openings give you a good position and contain a lot of traps, like for example, the albin countergambit... I think that I've played the lasker trap line twice and I'm just one person, and the queen's gambit isn't even that common, or at least not at my level

  • @syndrac6254
    @syndrac6254 Před 29 dny

    It's good that you're busting these opening trap myths. Chess isn't about moving something and hoping the opponent sticks to the script. You wouldn't rob a bank with a knife and hope that they give you the money. Their choices are give you the money, press the alarm or attack you. Never play moves where the opponent can turn the pressure on you. Force your opponent to make a decision. The most forcing move in Chess is a check.

    7:14 bishop a4 is the most common move according to the lichess database
    With over 500k players have played this move in every elo range
    3.2k players played this on 400 elo

    • @chessscape
      @chessscape  Před 29 dny

      yes but… do we know what all beginners really play or how accurate is lichess database?

    • @plokenv
      @plokenv Před 29 dny

      @@chessscape im not saying all beginners play this, im saying this is the most common move on any elo range
      And the previous move by black is worth playing against beginners
      Lichess database accuracy is ranked by percentage.
      In this case, Ba4 is played by 55% of players 400 to 1000 elo in lichess

  • @user-ti4di1uh2d
    @user-ti4di1uh2d Před měsícem

    New challenge idea. I’ll give you (whoever read this) an opening trap and you have to find which move is the mistake and why is it a mistake.
    1. d4 d5
    2. e4 dxe4
    3. Nc3 Nf6
    4. Bg5 Nbd7
    5. f3 exf3
    6. Nxf3 e6
    7. Bd3 Be7
    8. O-O O-O
    9. Qe1 b6
    And now white can play Qh4 with a huge attack on black. What move is wrong for black that allow this opening trap to happen, why is it wrong. what should you play instead and why is the new move good?

  • @sujalmaharjan7563
    @sujalmaharjan7563 Před 7 dny

    But what if white plays Nc3 instead of Qa5 in 8:22? It stops Bb5 from white stoping the fork. Also, white was kinda back in development so why not develop a knight to c3?

      I will teach a trick to you to always win. Before the game (or during) offer them money. If they say no offer them more. You will end up winning 100 % of the time. And if somehow you end up with someone never accepting money get a good gun... Works with me every time and this strategy made me the best chess player in the world.
