Hardcore can indeed be very various!! Of course artists like Angerfist, Nosferatu, etc. play and produce Hardcore - this is the netherlands hardcore... What Cotts (& Ravine) are playing is called UK Hardcore and is kind of similar to the netherlands (earlier) Happy Hardcore
--> What this guy is doing is very professional - and on parties I have seen lots of DJs which were less professional...

I'd get some cheap vinyl turntables to start of with. Get belt drive ones as they are very cheap and if you want to continue you'll have to make the choice between continuing with vinyl or switching over to CDJs. CDJs are A LOT more expensive, but get cheaper in the long run as CDs are a lot cheaper than vinyl (per track if using iTunes) or even free if you decide to choose that path ;)
Belt drive turntables with a cheap mixer can cost you as little as 250-300 dollars.
Then you'll most likely need an amp and speakers. It's more expensive than you'd think. If you want cheap it'll still be about 200 for amp speakers and headphones. Then you're set.
So about 500 for the equipment, then you should try to get some second hand vinyl in a pack. I got 33 records for 30 euros (spain) with a mix of styles. Good enough to get me started.

here it is: 2x pioneer cdj 1000mk3 (cd player),2x pioneer cdj800 mk2(cd player silver),pioneer djm 800(mixer),1x pioneer efx 1000 (effects processor),pioneer hdj-1000 (headphones), 2 turntables but i don't know their makes.
It's a Pioneer DJM-800

those as in his turntables? or as in his CD decks he uses CDJ-1000's + 800's ....
Download VirtualDJ and have a play with some mixing, it's just like having decks. I started that when I was 12, now I'm 15 and I have a pretty good knowledge of how to use real decks, thinking of getting some soon. It's a great way of starting out though to see if you like it without having to buy decks.

Angerfist is dutch hardcore, what most europeans will call hardcore. Gabber is not like Angerfist. It is what Thunderdome used to be like, old Neophyte tracks with a very electronic kick to them rather than the very hard crushing sound of hardcore bass.
What Cotts mixes - I call it UK hardcore, cause it's the only way I can describe it. It's not quite happy hardcore. It's harder than happy but nowhere near as hard as "real" hardcore.

if he uploaded songs everyone would just download them... thats why you 'buy' them so the producers who make them atchaully get something out of it.
