She's correct about the agism in UK (London) club culture. When I socialize in Germany, I see a wider spread of age groups.
In London you could have a 50 plus year old Carl Cox djing but the security will stop anyone from entering who looks over 40.
If you grew up in your teens listening to house music during the 80s, why wouldn't you want to socialize at house venues in 2024?
that part. unfortunately i see people my age making fun of older clubbers and i'm like why????? it's so amazing and lovely to me that love of club music can be a lifelong endeavor and i don't wanna be judged for that when i get older. hopefully it changes with time
@channelformusic759 It is a ridiculous attitude to have when most of the highest paid djs and promoters are 40 or older.
When you go to your next music festival count how many djs are over 40.
No one is going start listening to The Rolling Stones when they are 50 because the kids think that they are too old to go to house music venues.
House music is a culture. It is where they might only see a certain type of friend. There are people who I know who I have never seen during the daytime.
