It has to spin in circles since the Lidar is up front and not a rotating unit on the top like on previous models. It will do this spinning thing until the room/floor map is created.
I’ve got the exact same issues. It takes forever to do my house because its navigation is stupid. I’m yelling at it to just go in straight lines!!! Sometimes when it returns to dock it goes the longest way possible plus some and always spinning in circles
@@kelvinhobbs5001 Yeah man exact same behaviour here! I got another video where it sat there for 3 minutes driving into an indoor plant pot trying to get back to the dock. It actively sat there for 3 minutes drying to drive forward as it was hard up against the pot 😅😅 I emailed Ecovacs and they gave me an RMA number and I took it back to the Good Guys and got a refund.

I just bought it. Holy crap, worst robot on market! Firmware is one big bug. Alot of troubles when going over carpets!!
Ecovacs has 2y warranty, u can claim your warranty dude, this is electronic things sometimes something happened

Except this same behaviour has been reported by many users all over Reddit. Clearly Ecovacs rushed to market, pretty poor form.
