    Solar in my area is only a good option if you have a large power bank. Without a power bank, I will have no power due to the power company cutting all power for the saftey of linemen. I was also quoted 84k, 54k after rebates. A high quality generator that will power a complete home 5k

    There is no “if you’re going to have a battery with your solar” if you’re thinking of solar as a backup. You have to have a battery. This sun doesn’t shine at night. If the grid power is out at night or during a storm, you have to draw from the battery.

    My electrician installed a Generac 22KW standby on NG last year with transfer switch and all. I now am wondering of supplementing with storing the energy produced in their power cell battery system. It sure seems it could sure prevent the generator from running all the time during a power outage. I am wondering if your company has installed these new Generac PWR Cells afterwards without too much trouble? (I am not considering solar in this location.)

      @acefire4050 Před rokem

      Solar panels will probably be cheaper with generators you hire someone to put it in your house a inverter EG4 inverter 6,548 w plus if you get their batteries they're all certified in the United States for electric company selling to them any EG4 cost $2,990 probably plus shipping and handling tax each one or solar panels at 455 Watts cost $291 that is the biggest Filipino I know they have they have smaller solar panels too they also Salas Canada solar panel bifacial solar panel weighs about 62 lb and they're 450 w solar panels they collect power from both sides of the solar panel and the company I'm talking about is signature solar and now support you all the way to tell you how to hook it up how to run these things I know support you for the rest of your life with telling you everything you need to know and I'll give you advice as well and if you get there inverter and their batteries all you have to do is plug and Play because their inverters are connected with their batteries through the controls without even have to play with the controls cuz inverters and batteries know what to do connect to each other need to build a permit an electric permit to sell to electric company not all states by electricity from you there's a few of them that won't but most of them will it is really late at night right now I'll explain more to you as far as more awake but I got off work and came home after making food for everybody for at least 2/3 of the United States of America and 50 other countries if not a little more. I have solar panels and I don't have enough solar panels I don't have enough money to buy solar panels very often but I build my own grown amounts I put my solar panels on the ground on stands have batteries I'm not selling the electric company don't have enough power to do that at this time I don't have no part of my whole house but there's four or five companies I know that exists now that I can buy solar panels from and I'm planning on buying them from three different places one which is out of Canada or the one that Canada might have in the United States I do believe they have one. Depends on what generator you want for electric that runs off from solar and charges in two to three hours some of them charged in four and a half hours and some of them can run your house indefinitely but your best bet would be blue Eddie 200 blue Eddie 300 two of them with all eight batteries and get your solar panels that charge the fastest better than any other solar panel does but those can be very expensive. You can find other generators on the app store that are electric that are cheaper but you're looking into paying 2 to 3,000 to 5,000 or more sometimes a little bit less for generators that are electric don't get hung up on any of the deals that say $99 or less I may be hundred and some dollars and less because they're scams from China saying their own companies in certain States all over the United States and they take your money and run and if you do want to make a order from anybody on internet get the telephone number and call them if they answer they'll say who they are and what company it is and if this phone company said the phone does not exist write that down as a scammer because that would be fact and yes the names are in Chinese when you get a thing back on the phone saying that you paid for it one said they shipped it out gave me a tracking number the tracking number does not exist open one of them is not a scam and if it's not a scam I could spend real money at that place not just on their sales. But I think I found out what companies are the best for buying things from you can watch some CZcams channels electric generators this is a guy older guy calls himself call hobo he explains generators what they can do and have a good discounts on them get a solar panel system set on your house and cost as low as 10,000 dollars to much more. But you can find smaller deals for a few thousand dollars in solar panels with inverters and batteries on the app store as well I don't know if I'm saying this in the right order I am really tired I got to get some sleep I got to wake up early and it is 1:15 in the morning and I wake up about 6:00 every morning it's too long of a day too much work I got to do oh I wished I wouldn't have got a job to take make food but I do like the job pays very little it is somewhat heard someone easy I hate being responsible for 2/3 of foods in every grocery store every restaurant every fast food restaurant every gas station our competitions are losing in the Battle of food because it because the seeds are not there but we still get our seed but not as much as we need cuz the seed shortage the food we get shortage that we got to make makes it harder for us to make food for everybody but we find a way to have a lot of work to do it anyways how many hours at work I make way too little bit of money barely enough to live off of enough to buy food and gas and almost nothing else I'm happy my daughter's got a job and make life a little bit easier she should help me out with money which is also going to help on it on another family with money too and get too many medical bills I can't pay I have insurance I think I'm rambling on I think I'm half asleep almost asleep I'm going to have to say goodbye to continue too much more than I need to on my words to call messed up sorry.

    Joe, can you comment on the Generac sound levels? I noticed they spec a few of their units at 65dB @21 feet. While this is not the noise level of some of the cheaper gas/propane generators out there, it is far from silent. For me I view the solar/battery system having an advantage over the Generac generator as it is truly silent.

    Nice job as always but it would've been more informative if you presented the costs. Solar is immensely expensive compared to standby power in terms of capital investments. I was quoted plus 25K for solar and $4800 for standby. The upfront cash is an important element. Obviously over time solar would win out in a drawn out grid down situation. Thanks for what you are doing though! I hope you continue to get subs!

    • @SolarSurge

    You are comparing apples to oranges. Most people absolutely cannot afford to have all there electric power replaced by solar panels. It is not economically feasible even with a one time tax incentive. The word "sustainable" is often used in place of "forever". If you want emergency power and opt for a battery backup system it means until you run your batteries down which won't take long with modern day "conveniences". There is in fact maintenance that needs to be performed- just ask any installer. They won't give you a warranty without a Preventive Maintenance agreement. Oh yeah- they need to be cleaned on occasion. I like solar myself, but don't blow smoke up peoples skirts. Most of the solar advertisements you see are not for Stand Alone systems, you WILL be paying both for the loan to have solar installed AND to the power company. Pay close attention before signing anything!

      @@2BEorNOT2B3 there are many electric generators out there some of them can actually run your complete house why would I buy a gas electric generator or a gas generator that makes electric is more what I should say when I buy electric generator that is run off from solar panels or electric generator that's why I don't know from turbines from water or electric generator that is run off of wind from windmills which I only could use one of them which is called solar from solar panels I want an electric generators that can be charged by solar you know solar panels they are out there they are very expensive for me you can buy a more expensive gas generator if you want but of course some of those electrics generators are even more expensive then a gas generator but it is cheaper to have solar because you don't have to buy gas in the long run but my understanding is 6000 cycles the electric generator goes down to 80%, some less than 6,000 cycles some a little more than 6,000 cycles and eventually it goes down to 70% meaning they do die I don't have any proof of this but that's what they say but then in gas generator can also break down and cost a lot of money to fix or to replace just like at the place I work at we use engines to run some of our machines they're electric these machines were made in the '70s they cost a lot of money to fix these machines runs these tanks which mixes things to make your food or what she gets added to your food so you have food when you buy it from the store including bread pepper gravy sauces and cans miracle whip male mayonnaise all your different salad dressings I'm surprised we actually do all of them but we do your breads buns donuts pepper couple kinds of pepper actually 80% of everything that is made for grocery stores the sell to people food fast food restaurants homestyle restaurants everything even gas stations we make food for everything just about and we got very few people working there I'm one of those workers and we're shorting people we're always running short and product probably because no people's actually wanting to work so planting getting planet so we can't make some things or we always run short and maybe while your stores are starting to become a little emptier and pretty soon to be even less food unless people actually want to work and stay working you guys are looking at a hard time in the future maybe she have a garden soon after weigh about going to the grocery store to get buy food because pretty soon people going to be fighting over food because there won't be it cuz we can't make enough. Yes I want an electric generator I do have solar panels I do have inverters I do run some of my house with the inverters my solar panels and my chargers screen for more batteries because they charge my batteries by 9:00 in the morning I don't got very many solar if I complete my bad battery is empty it does take my solar panels a bit longer to charge my solar panels to charge my batteries and in cloudy days only my blue solar panels work my black solar panels say there's no sun it's all night time in the middle of the day when it's cloudy day and rains coming down I do like sunny days both my blue and black and brown and orange solar panels make power and the orange might be a reddish brown actually they're kind of new 25 watt solar panels from harbor freights which I also did buy some of their 100 watt solar panels they're black they're actually probably 120 watts called hundred Watts but that's okay with me but right now they're too expensive so I'll buy the same solar panels from other places like tractor supplies Walmart well actually Walmart I'm actually buying blue solar panels 100 w that are 6.8 amps which are a little more amps than harbor freights 5.5 amps solar panels that are 100 Watts I need 17 of the blue solar panels for 100 amps for 100 amp charger it's actually a point 13 over 100 amps but that 100.13 amp I don't think we'll bother my 100 amp charger which I hope it doesn't I'm not really interested in 100 watt solar panels think they're a little too small I would rather have bigger solar panels but I'm going to do a test with the blue solar panels and the black solar panels at the same Watts but to fill a 100 amp charger I would have to buy 18 black solar panels to make 100 amps when I only have to buy 17 of the blue solar panels to make 100 amps and that goes with another black solar panel that slightly over how its freights 5.5 amps to 5.68 amps tractor supplies 100 w solar panels I can't buy Walmart's Black solar panels because they call it 120 w solar panel with 3.5 amps which doesn't make much sense then when they got blue 100 Watts solar panels that are 6.89 amps which I'm buying from their app and getting sent to my house I need to buy eight more to make 100.13 amps to start that test but then I got to find 100 watt black solar panels but I'd have to buy 18 of them to do that test from the matter what company so far I looked at for black solar panels 100 Watts when all I have to do is by 17 of the blue 100 Watts solar panels it doesn't make much sense but I want to fill 100 amps chargers that I have to do these tests and I can't have many of these 100 amp chargers I have nine of them right now which would actually being unfair advantage to the blue 100 w solar panels when I use 17 of them to the 18 black solar panels 100 Watts I don't know why I'm telling you this but those are what they sell for most generators to charge them but I do believe they're 100 watts and they're 200 Watts actually have a lot more amperage to those solar panels when she could buy those solar panels too to test them to see what they really are to my chargers but they do cost a little bit more from those generator companies I have to stop I'm rambling on and I don't make any videos to prove my point to what I know about the blue solar panels and the black solar panels which I do like them both just don't like the black one so much and cloudy days but I like the blue ones either way cuz they'll give power whenever there's light even my car light I'm going to come home at work at night gives my blue solar panels to charge when the black ones will not well of course back then when I was running low on power I left my car running on my truck running a bowl shining on the solar panels so my solar panels could charge the batteries so that they could run my house with an inverter Which was effective for my blue solar panels to charge my batteries and the black solar panels is no way no how not can't do it not bright enough but the blue banana says oh great we got some light we can run it must be daytime even though it's in the middle of the night and that works for me 20 years ago now 20 years later so the panels are cheaper why I just 24 years later but but now solar panels are cheaper and I'm starting to buy them again and now I find out they're on the websites which I didn't know the right internet before but they probably weren't 10 12 years ago but I know they were maybe four or five years ago because of CZcams videos I've been watching the last year or so that were made back then at those times and this year is the first time I put the app on my phone so I can actually order from them so I'm ordering from Walmart harbor freights Lowe's and Menards and even home Depot with some of them only actually have 100 watt solar panels and smaller and as well as tractor supplies even though Menards Lowe's and Walmart does have bigger solar panels have solar systems but I don't get that kind of money to pay for those systems but I did find them also on the app store and the Google store to buy from it might be a little bit cheaper here and there and some places a little more expensive so I go back and forth to buy from one or the other and I just buy the cheapest ones I can at the same wattage and when I get up money or I could buy big systems that I watch I should use or need. And that's also why I want electric generators for backup power.

    Not a good idea solar are cheap why I create pollution man I love the world i always suggest to do all thing with solar energy.. a plant can grow up with a sun rays and we eat sun energy via plant ...dont use any generator
