      @@ws6568- They can use the robot without wifi, they just won’t be able to control it - like sending it to clean one room specifically. It will just run around by itself. Mine will do the perimeter of 3 rooms & the hallway, and then set to clean them with its own pattern, before going on to do the perimeter of the other 2 rooms and again set its own pattern to finish up.

It fussed a little bit, giving me the Notif that it wasn’t supported on 5GHz network, but after clicking off/on the Maximize Connectability toggle button under my Hotspot setting, it finally worked!!!
    It’s still dumb to me though, they don’t make these “smart devices” Bluetooth connectable when many people don’t have home internet besides what they have on a phone. Then they could use only one phone. 🙄🙄🙄

  • @HarmonicaShala
    @HarmonicaShala Před 2 lety +1

    Interesting. I never thought about it as I have a WiFi router and the range suffices to control the robot. This can be useful in case you do not have a WiFi router let us say in a house shifting scenario. But having to use two mobile phones of which one is serving as a hot spot can be an expensive ( router is much cheaper than a phone and so is broadband) yet less efficient solution. But it can be used as a stop gap solution during outages.

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  Před 2 lety +5

      Definitely cheaper and convenient. But if you look at the broadband vs mobile penetration rate in India - there is a huge difference (broadband is just 1.6% while mobile for internet use is 53%). So there may be cases in which a household does not have wifi but multiple people in the house have a mobile phone - which is when this becomes useful. I got many requests for this - which makes me happy that robot vacuums are becoming more mainstream (not just the tech audience ☺️).

      @HarmonicaShala Před 2 lety

How much star rating? IF you are running for almost full day, go for a 5ton else go for a 3 ton. My recommendations:

    I have few questions on Viomi v3 vs viomi alpha s9
    1. Even though viomi alpha s9 has auto dirt disposal, I need to replace the dust bag monthly once. And each bag costs 500 rupees in India. So spending that additional cost is really useful?
    2. Is it possible to dump out the dust collected and reuse the same dust bag ?
    3. Does both viomi v3 and s9 does sweeping and mopping at the same time simultaneously? Or we need to run it 2 times separately?
    As in once sweeping is done we need to clean the dustbin/self dirt disposal and fill it with water and again do a 2nd run for mopping?
    4. Are there any other points to consider between viomi v3 and s9 apart from the auto dirt disposal? Im not sure ehich one to go for.

      @@TheGrapevineIndia Hey,
      I just found out a way. Hold the home button for 3 seconds. We will recive a note about factory reset. Then continue with your original process of connecting to Wi-Fi. It works..

    These things don't work without WiFi?

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  Před 2 lety

      Hi Praveen, you do get a few models with remote. But if you need the ‘smart’ functionality of these - needs wifi or connect using hotspot as I showed here 😊

      Hey pravin... I am using this robot vaccum without any wifi or hotspot since almost 4 months now... It works without any wifi or hotspot... But then... You can only start and stop the device using the buttons on the robot.... Once it starts... It will clean all your house and go back to it's charging station once it's done... Since I can't use any smart features... I have to close all my exit doors as well as washroom doors while the robot is cleaning.... Also... If i have to clean only one room sometimes.... I start the robot in that room and close the door... But... The robot gets confused a lot.... And rather than moving around the room... It just tries to get out of the door.... And gets stuck near the door....
      So... In conclusion... If u don't have wifi or hotspot... U can use the robot for the whole house cleaning... Keeping all the doors closed...
