The problem was she turned on the Sync before she loaded her track and didn’t switch the master. There are three easy fixes. Even after she messed up. She could have switched the master turned off the sync and reloaded her track. She could have clicked the tempo button and changed it to +16 or wide.. and she could have pressed the tempo reset button. She’s not a DJ. That’s the problem.

This has nothing to do with USBs, Backups and Sync. The USB didn't fail and even if you had sync blow your track into (pun intended) oblivion all you have to do is be professional and use your skills to slowly ease your way out of a sticky sitch. Instead she started yelling like a petulant child and blamed everyone but herself. You literally just have to reset the tempo. This person made more money than most hardworking people make in a year in 20 mins. This is absolutely inexcusable. Not a USB problem, not a sync problem, not even a beatmatch problem. She was trashed that was it. Even if she faded the remaining tracks in and out without any beat matching it would have been better.

Ummmm, she had the program set on 45 rpm and not 33 rpm. Possibly the cdjs/controller was set on that. Either way, one of the two was on 45rpm. Very, very simple fix! Something a real DJ/Turntablist like myself would have caught & swiftly resolved within seconds. The audience would have never known! Maybe she should learn how to use the software instead of attempting to fake it until you make it! This is why most of these so called DJs out today should have remained in their bedroom! This is also why I charge what I charge to this day and do not have issues with being booked! I actually know how to DJ first! The equipment I use is an extension of me! The software I use does not define my parameters. I determine that with my abilities on the turntables! I can use other technology like cdjs and controllers. I prefer turntables. Allows more control over the way you manipulate the music. This young lady (and countless others) need to go all the way back to zero! Start all the way over again! Learn this craft properly! That prevents embarrassing situations like above! Stepping out on stage with your equipment having more knowledge of the music than you! Sad!

Having a backup is pointless because if you export your tracks from rekordbox to usb stick and make a backup of that, the same data analysis of all the tracks will be exported to both sticks. If the data is analyzed wrong than it will be wrong on both sticks. Third feedback is correct.
4th feedback is try to actually have talent and that is something that grimes lacks.

Learn to beat match by ear? That is not supposed to be a DJ? It is stupid that new DJs just put a USB with a premix or a playlist and they just act like they are mixing.

It’s actually the devolving to DJ. It’s not interesting. She was interesting with playing keys, launching sounds, triggering samples, etc. why just use Software? It’s Dumb.

She's just not a DJ, any DJ would have a variety of tricks up their sleeve to handle this. Beatmatching is one, but not the only one. And seems she had not alternatives at all...

Number 3 should be number 1, real talk, every dj should learn to dj without using the sync button. I'm from the old school and I had to dj at someones house party with no speed control on a vinyl deck and the other deck had speed control lol 😂 now that's a challenge

All her "technical difficulties" couldve been easily fixed/avoided. She really be blaming the "unorganized tracks" and whatever the hell she meant by "outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm's" 😂😂

This is why most dj use serato .. you can dj in internal mod , dj with one working deck . Most pro dj wouldn’t miss a beat with equipment failure . This is rookie shit !!!!

Learn to beat match by ear? Is it just me or isn't that one of the things that supposed to set a professional dj apart from a person just messing around with a deck? How can someone be on such a huge stage without being able to do that? If you're not mixing the beats manually and it's a computer doing it, what's to stop anybody from getting on stage and doing it? Security, I guess.
