This makes me feel like I’m running away from an abusive family and as I’m crossing a bridge I stop to catch my breath. I look up and out into the freeway below me and feel the cold midnight air play. with my hair. I get closer to the rail of the bridge and close my eyes. I take a deep breath and suddenly feel like I’m floating. I feel the brightness of the streetlights brushing against my face. I lean forward to feel the air scurry through my hair. I open my eyes and suddenly see an ocean below me instead of a freeway. I lean a bit more forward to get a closer look. I rub my eyes in disbelief as I see my deceased sibling looking right at me. Tears start to swell up in my eyes and I yell their name. I reach down and feel myself tilting over bit by bit. The cold midnight air hits my face and dries my tears as they come rushing down my soft cheeks. I stretch my arm over more trying to grab my sibling forgetting it’s all an illusion made up by my ill mind. I tip over the edge and fall into the ocean below me. I feel the cold water brush through my hair as I drown in my tears. I can’t move but I’m still conscious. I close my eyes and accept that my end has finally come.
Suddenly I wake up with tears in my eyes. My sibling is right beside me shaking me gently. I begin to cry once again and hug them tightly. Then my memories rush back in my mind and I remember it wasn’t an ocean I fell into.
