Phone XS and iPhone XS Max (stylized as iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, Roman numeral "X" pronounced "ten") are smartphones designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc. It is the twelfth generation of the iPhone, succeeding the iPhone X as the flagship devices in the iPhone series.[3] They were announced on September 12, 2018 alongside the lower-priced iPhone XR at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino by Apple CEO Tim Cook, with pre-orders beginning September 14, 2018 and official release on September 21, 2018.[4]
The XS has a design similar to the X but includes upgraded hardware like the A12 Bionic chip, built with a 7 nanometer process.[5] It also features a 5.85-inch (149 mm) OLED screen and contains dual 12-megapixel rear cameras and a 7-megapixel front-facing camera. The XS Max features the same hardware and cameras, but has a larger 6.46-inch (164 mm) OLED screen and larger battery.
The XS and XS Max are rated IP68 for dust and water resistance under IEC standard 60529, with Apple specifying a maximum depth of 2 meters and up to 30 minutes of submersion.[6] This is an improvement in water resistance over the iPhone 8 and X.[7] Apple has performed tests in various liquids including chlorinated water, salt water, tea, wine, beer and juices.
Due to the release of the XS, XS Max and XR, the X was discontinued, meaning that it had the shortest ever tenure as flagship device in the history of the iPhone with a shelf life of only 10 months.
At release the XS and XS Max had starting prices of US$999/GB£999/€1149/RMB8699 and $1099/£1099/€1249/RMB9599 respectively in the United States/United Kingdom/Germany/China.
Internationally, the XS and XS Max will support dual SIMs through a Nano-SIM and an eSIM. In mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, the XS Max will come with a dual Nano-SIM tray (and no eSIM) while the XS will support a single Nano-SIM. Gold only looks good in certain lighting, IMO. It switches from a light khaki, pink or copper rose gold, pearlesque band aid, brown cream, to and shades in between...it's very inconsistent.

I bought the gold, then returned it for the Silver.
THe gold on the back is more of a rose gold and depending on the angle can almost look pinkish. When I saw the silver I immediately liked it better than the gold.
Everyone saying how amazing the gold looks but honestly, the back of it more of a rose gold which I dont like. If they made the back like the side of the phone then it would be sick.

Silver is the best colour. It’s also the only one you can buff the scratches out of the frame as gold and space grey will loose the coating

This iphone looks like easy mode on my Samsung Note 8. Colorful, limited and basic. Good for kids but not for business men that need a multitasking super computer replacement. My Note can do that. I'm happy for now I'll be eagerly waiting for Note10!

Hania whd I got the silver and my sister got the gold. They’re both gorgeous but the gold is more of a rose gold with that kind of pinkish undertone. If you like that, then get it for sure. I feel like the silver is a little more classic and clean though and will probably match with more cases (if you’re going to have colored ones)
