  • Metro services through the Sydney CBD are in sight, following a major testing milestone ahead of services starting on the Sydney Metro City & Southwest line later this year.
All 45 metro trains in the current fleet have now completed at least one return journey between Tallawong and Sydenham at operational speed.
Preparations are now underway for the next major phase of testing - trial running, which is expected to begin in the coming months.
Trial running is the last stage of testing before the launch of the new metro line, where network operator Metro Trains Sydney will run a series of timetable running and operational tests.

'Metro services through the Sydney CBD are in sight' - yes this is the most ex-sighting video I've watched in the last 30 seconds

I do not why but today in the metro the map was very different and the metro behaviour in a good way it was like the one at 1:35

I believe since 2018. The trains aren't deteriorating though and they are being tested still.

You can thank the unions for having them sit in sidings for all this time.

For the Tallawong to Chatswood service, will Sydney Metro upgrade the new announcement, because of the CBD Line?

Hope they upgrade the text to speech announcements on the platforms. How could they not bother to get those done by a human I will never know.

Yeah I agree those sound terrible. I do like the current metro voice being replaced now, different to the trains. I like that she sounds a bit more informal.

@@mariachrzski18yes it is a lot more informative also trains are always all stops some would have been express in 2019 from Chatswood to tallawong but that never happened
