    There was a chic in HS that had one like that it was her Dad's and we used to party in it. Pick up all our friends and party down!! I drove all the time she didn't want to drive. Sure do miss those days. That's a VERY nice clean car!!!❤ thanks for the trip back to when I was like 18

    I LOVE the comment of (speaking to the driver) "they shouldn't be talking to you" lol so true,,,, the driver knows where to go, no questions asked. If the passenger needs to go somewhere different, press that horrible switch, put the divider window down, and SPEAK lol wow, who would have thunk. I love this car, i had a '69 convertable, loved it so much. was maroon, with white leather.

    I had a ‘69 DeVille convertible. It had glass rear window. The boot was still wrapped up in the trunk as it came from the factory. This video brought back fond memories. 👍

    Thing is this baby was built like this at the factory. It’s not a third party conversion. Which means that all the structural engineering wasn’t f’d with by some guy with a blow torch. No squeaks, rattles, or wonky stuff - this baby will be smooth and silent over the craters on the moon!

      my 1968 one had the exact same separation window but I do not think the dark color is original. It probably is foil. Also on the back side windows and rear window.

    • @computerjantje
      @computerjantje Před 3 lety +1

      @ Well that is a matter of personal taste. In fact even though I owned one from 1968, which is my birth year, The best looking nose for me was the 1975 one. But I can imagine someone liking the very dominant grill of the 1969 and 70 model. The thing is that these cars were very hard to find in the Netherlands 35 years ago and I wanted one very badly so I was more then happy to settle for the 1968 one. Especially as it was in great condition and totally unaltered original.

    Like all older big heavy GM cars of this era this one needs front coil springs replaced - if you want the factory ride height. Im 64 and I remember what they looked like many years ago when I was a mechanic, this ones about 2" low - that big block Caddy motor is (heavy!) lol

  • @computerjantje

      Escalade??? HAH! I need a new SUV to replace my '05 Yukon and test drove a 2018 Escalade back in November. I can't even fit in the damn thing! The cabin has so little room that my legs were literally pinned against the door and the console. Plus they ride so rough now and the seats aren't comfortable at all.
