I see a lot of videos about oil painting on Dibond where they use the polyester coated side. Does Dibond as seen here have a polyester coated side?

Will the Golden gesso stick to aluminum well?? I find it hard to believe that it will have a long life.

I had a good experience with this process ( scrach coat & cleanser steps )it's an experimental approach to old problems. you may want to try on small project then intentionally expos the paint to sun heat, cold and moisture and see how it goes. Test the process, fine tune and modify your mediums and grund.

Is priming it with Rustoleum necessary? If so why?

No, it is not essential to use a primer before applying gesso.
