      ⚠️Here are the generator safety tips:
      This is just a reminder for everyone’s safety. All generator safety rules need to be followed carefully
      1) Please do not allow an unqualified person or your children to operate and service the portable generator. Just because some manuals don’t say that doesn’t mean it’s safe. That is important against the generator safety rules. We also need to be keeping an eye on our children too. You need to make sure that your children are not playing near the portable generator especially when it’s running so they won’t get electrocuted. Generators pose electrical risks and they can be hot during an operation. Please keep your children away from the portable generator at all times. It is important to keep our children safe especially our little ones. Be aware of all the hazards.
      2) Some people use their portable generators indoors which increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. It’s important to have a carbon monoxide if you have a gas generator. Never ever use your generator indoors even if your doors and windows are open and even in the garage is not safe to use a portable generator. Not even at your porch and your deck. It is never safe to use your generator indoors and in enclosed areas of your home. Your generator needs to be 15-20 feet away from your house.
      3) 🔥generators cause fire hazards too. Never refuel your generator while it’s running. You need to let your generator cool off before refueling it and before storing your generator. Never overload your generator too. Never ever back feed your generator. You should never plug your generator into a wall outlet. Also never store propane tanks indoors. Please keep flammable things away from the generator as well and please don’t smoke cigarettes near the generator. Having a fire extinguisher next to the generator is also important against the generator safety rules.
      4) generator operation; make sure your hands are dry before touching the generator. Never use your generator in wet conditions. Don’t let your generator get wet. You need a generator tent if you need to use your generator during wet weather. Please don’t wear loose clothes when operating the generator. Turn on your generator before plugging in appliances. Use the right cord for your generator. Please do not use worn out cords.
      czcams.com/video/I1jT3ANENvI/video.html and here is a video more about keeping others safe when using generators and also about our family’s safety. Hope this helps

    Hey bro i purchased a 2.58 kw generator today and i putted one litre oil in it i read the owner manual it was recomended to put 0.6 litre of oil in it what should i do?

    • @Generatorguru
      @Generatorguru  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi, You will need to look in the owners manual where it shows how to drain/change the oil. I would drain it all out and start over to ensure that you have the recommended amount of 0.6 liters in the engine crankcase. Thank You:)

    I checked the predator 4000 generator and the brush was burned out on one side. What does this mean? Is something else wrong or do I need to replace the brush. I replaced the brush before from an old generator and it worked fine for six months and the same thing happened.

      I've had my generator for several years and I've always used 10W-30. Unless I have a long power outage, I change mine once a year. I have a 5500w, so I run mine monthly with a couple hair dryers plugged in for a load.

    does 7.5kva grip generator have a oil filter? I also do not see a fuel filter on the grip 7.5kva

    • @Generatorguru
      @Generatorguru  Před rokem

      Hi!
      No they do not have oil filters. So you need to be sure you are changing the oil regularly. About 50 hours on 1st oil change, 100 on second and thereafter 150 hours. See full details on our service kit page: generatorguru.com/a-service-kit-98674573/
      As to fuel filter, yes it may have 2. One inline on the fuel pipe (some models only unless you have used one of our service kits which we include and suggest you add. available from this page separately if you do not need a full service kit.: generatorguru.com/7-5kva/) and one above the petcock (remove to clean) so be sure to check these too when servicing.
      Hope this helps! :)

    Does 2 stroke engines need to be oil changed?

    • @Generatorguru
      @Generatorguru  Před 3 lety

      No, 2-stroke engines have the oil mixed in with the gas, and is not separate. You will need to check air filters, to be sure they do not degrade or need replacing. Also, be sure to turn off the petcock (fuel on/off) and drain the carb when you store the generator (side screw on carb bowl). Check the fuel reservoir bowl at the bottom of the petcock to discard any bits it has caught on a regular basis. Be sure the strainer in the top of the fuel tank is clean and not damaged. Check the state of the fuel tank by looking at fuel that is removed. Is the fuel showing that the tank is rusty or contaminated and need replacing? Store in dry place when not in use. Hope this helps! If you need any other assistance we have a whole section on repairing 2 stroke generators. www.generatorguru.com/need-help/
