Fascinating and very informative information. I feel pretty well-informed on the CSZ... the Seattle area faults, not so much. 20 to 40+ foot wave(s) moving at 25 knots in the metro area, bays and islands is a pretty horrifying possibility. I always refer to the 3/11/11 Japan big one when it comes to potential tsunami devastation.

Informative. You guys do the best you can. Seems the Seattle fault has been studied a lot more than other faults such as South Whidbey. I'd wager that there are serious faults in the puget sound we do not even know about since they only move every several thousand years. The best advice you can give is to avoid things that can fall on you and seek higher ground immediately. Seems to me that given the wrong tide and movement that Marysville, Stanwood, Snohomish could be in extreme jeopardy from tsunami. Has there been any study of past wave heights in these areas? I saw a generalized study of the old growth timber harvested, some interior puget sound areas the trees were clearly wiped out 320 years ago even though that was not in the puget sound at all. Seems to me we will find that we don't know far more than we know.

Great discussion. I appreciate the research being conducted and hope more studies will follow this.

85% chance. Very specific number. Why not 80% or 90%? That "5" makes me suspicious that there's some psychological aspect to the % choice

Yes why not 73%, 82%, 91% but yes I get what you are saying
