7:10 I love how you frame video editors as visualizers.. you're exactly right and you should lean heavily on that definition and include it at the beginning of your videos, maybe shorten it to a sweet 10 second, 2 sentence elevator pitch of what a visualizer is.. love this man.. just discovered you through this video.. keep up the good work!!!!

No please do not edit with lights off and if you are blessed with a sunny room to work in just do that, your eyes burning will be more distracting than TikTok if you stay at your computer in a dark room. When you have to deal with colors, precise color keying and very detailed scenes then darkness is a must, but until then/once you are done with those things... do not stay in the dark. Having a light behind your screen (not in front, BEHIND IT) helps as well if your room is particularly dark.
haven't seen such video in years... I'm a Professional filmmaker and Editor from past 8 years and I Do feel zero motivation on some particular projects for edit n procrastinate for months. Appreciate the efforts I liked the way you explained the whole process in much simpler way.
Having a detailed To-Do list where you can tick off small subtasks every few minutes also helps stay motivated.
