  • In this video we show you around the Projecta Power-Hub Battery Box. When Projecta announced this product, we just had to have it. Projecta have become very well known, for making quality, well thought out, well priced products. This Projecta Power-Hub Battery box is no exception!
    Marty from our Brendale store at Tentworld shows you around! For more information visit here: www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale...
    Battery boxes are great for camping, and act as the central power station for your camp site. Use it for charging your phones, cameras and other rechargeable devices. Use it for powering your lights, and portable fridges.
    Battery boxes are a great way to make a battery more user friendly. They're great in extended brown-outs & blackouts for keeping critical devices like mobile phones available, and for powering lights in the evening, providing what can be unlimited power when paired with a generator, or solar panel.
    In modern day camping, we think all camp sites have a need for a battery box and we think the Projecta Power-Hub Battery box should be one you consider.

    I have this Battery Box running a 120AH AGM Battery. The Box is well built and does the job as required.

      Glad to hear you're enjoying your Engel Battery Box Ray! What do you use it to power?

    Do you need a solar regulator pwm/mppt to charge the battery box directly? thanks

    Thanks for the video. I would like to confirm if the solar panel needs a regulator or not. Thanks.

    Not sure if you guys are aware but the audio is buggered. Audible but hard to listen to. Otherwise good rundown of the product!

      Thanks for the feedback Nol! Yeah, the audio is pretty bad sorry! We've done our best to tweak it but this was filmed with the fans & AC going flat out and it's just impossible to get rid of. We're working on improving the audio situation for future vids - we do have subtitles available if it's unbearable... Thanks for the feedback! Sadly, we're not professional videographers - just campers trying to be helpful!

      @@tentworld Try harder. Lighting is shit too. Life isn't a matter of good intentions. Apparently, its a case of 'gone camping'. I would have been less kind. You're selling a technical product. You really need 'good info'. It will serve you well in the long run. So, we can all go camping without grief. Strangely, this guy told you this 3 years ago, but its still here.

      @@AndrewSheldon appreciate your inputs on our video productions. When this video was produced, we were learning, and improving. Our new videos you'll see are significantly better - as for deleting this one, many people still really enjoy it - despite its very bad production qualities. Keep well mate & happy camping

    Hi. Is it possible to charge the power hub from a standard cigarette lighter port into the Anderson plug?
    Or do you still need an inverter?

    • @tentworld
      @tentworld  Před 5 lety

      Hi Ricardo, the simple answer is no. If this is a feature you want out of the box & extremely simple. It might be worth considering going for the Engel Battery Box instead, it's a little dearer but does have built in DC-DC charger with cigarette lighter plug. For more info on the Engel head to: www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/engel-smart-battery-box-series-2
      Alternatively, you could pair this box with the Projecta IDC25 www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/projecta-dc-solar-3-stage-battery-charger-9-32v-25 this will give you a superior setup to the Engel with faster charging times but will end up being dearer.
      Ideally, you would not connect this IDC25 to the cigarette plug though, as the current that this IDC25 can ask for is more than the cigarette socket can easily give. (You still could if you must - but you wont get ultimate performance). You would be better off running a heavy duty DC cable direct to your starting battery. A fairly simple procedure, and will give you a great setup.
      I hope this helps.

    Hi, have a question about when you plug in the solar panel via the Anderson Plug.'
    Is the connection direct or do you go solar/charge controller/power hub,
    or the the power hub have the appropriate controller built in?.

    • @tentworld
      @tentworld  Před 5 lety

      Hi Mick, for charging with solar you do still want to use a solar regulator. Kind Regards, Tentworld team

    I had a basic dual system in my van so have an isolator switch. Would I be able to run the cords from that to the posts on the hub to charge the battery while I'm driving?

    • @tentworld
      @tentworld  Před 5 lety

      You could. This is how most old basic dual battery systems worked. You'll need to remember to isolate the battery when you stop. Alternatively if you grab this and also the projecta DC DC charger then you don't have to worry about isolator. It has a built in one. Here is link www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/projecta-dc-solar-3-stage-battery-charger-9-32v-25

    • @tentworld
      @tentworld  Před 5 lety

      The other advantage of grabbing this DC DC charger is that it'll charge your AGM better than your engine alternator will. Which will give you longer battery life and better performance from battery.

    Hey there, my battery only lasts 3 hrs and it goes from 100% to 0 without warning... Fully charged with power. The solar panel is not longer working either and my regulator still fine as I run 12v lights.
    Annoying and hoping someone can tell me Why the battery gets drained so quickly when watching a small smart tv. I had the thunder weekender previously and never had this problem :/
