Colbert defeated Corrales by unanimous decision after 12 rounds of boxing. His record improves to 14-0 (5 KOs).

Its a bad match up...the problem is Colbert leans to his right too much and its a habit that he does leaving him exposed to Garcias left. Garcia is left happy as we all know. That is Colbert main flaw but just like garcias flaw is being a stand up fighter with chin high and when he throws punches and especially after he throws his punches his pull backs his hands are low exposing his chin being to high and in the pocket. It could be a good fight but I think it benefits Garcia being left happy and Colbert bad habit of leaning to his right way too much. I dont think colbert can fix it but id watch it anyway I mean you never know it could be a really good fight.

Battle of attrition, this is a classic match. I really like the way Corrales used his feet & head to give different angles & looks. Colbert was looking to react & counter early on & use the jab but the movement stifled his game plan. Fun to watch, Colbert should have continued to wait, eventually your opponent will have to move first.. aka Bernard Hopkins

For a minute there, I thought a fight might break out! Alas, I was wrong.
This fight was hella boring. Both guys were defensive fighting and respected each other's speed so they were gun-shy the majority of the fight, hence the fans booing a lot. Colbert just simply outscored Corrales in spite of all the holding Corrales did.

If you're going to be a counter puncher then that’s fine. Some counter punchers are great because they still throw or land punches, Canelo, Floyd Mayweather, bud Crawford, Andre ward, Juan Marquez. I get it. Nonetheless, my point still stands.
These two guys need to let their hands go way more, and that’s coming from a guy who loves to watch the sweet science of boxing.
Boxing is a contact sport, out hitting the other guy wins fights, not running around showboating, antics. That’s cool at times but this one was a little too much antics, boasting, and not enough action for me.
Pay attention king Colbert applied pressure and established ring control while being first to throw yeah he waited but he was the aggressor also
@@dericdavis9163 Clear understanding. The objective of waiting for an open window is counter punching.
Waiting too long for the other guy to throw means you can miss the open window to throw a successful counter.
That's why heaving a steady jab is necessary, to create windows for a successful counter. Look at all successful counter puncher's, Floyd, Canelo, Ward, Crawford, what they all have in common is a good jab.
My critique on both of these young fighters is simple the counter punch over the top, right or left cross is mostly successful with a steady jab.
The lack of a steady jab can lead to head hunting looking for that one big shot, ultimately not letting their hands go enough. That leads to stagnation and to many faints.
You can’t enter a battle afraid of getting knocked out because that shows 125 percent of the time and that’s coming from a fighter. The jab will help perfect timing.
Line it up early be intelligent to the body and head, create apprehension and the knockout may or may not reveal its self in time. The point still stands these guy for multiple reasons didn't throw enough punches, therefor this bout was boring as hell. Be honest, we all know boxing. None of you would pay money to see this again.
