We do these at my job, im not allowed to since I don't have even a year experience from when I first was learning to weld to now (9 months total, 3 at a job) and even a couple of our welders don't get their welds this good welding them on the flat position. I've been seeing your videos here and there and this one caught my eye since it's the first one that I am familiar with what's going on. And you're right, brother. God bless America

@@jetweldingllc4691 Hello young man, As a farm welder, general fabrication, vehicle welder and such like I get asked to do welding jobs in all kinds of places and for various different types of welding jobs.
I only watch and follow the true and accurate welding channels like yours on CZcams so I can learn from them and see how other guys weld. Never to old to learn and at 56, I ain't no chicken but can keep up with younger folk.
To be honest, I am not qualified as a welder and have done work that perhaps I shouldn't do or have done. But I do make sure I observe the rules and work to a safe standard. I have done a few welding videos on my channel.
Here in the UK, our welding symbols differ to yours slightly and so do the WPS. I have seen structural engineers drawings with no connections shown, no WPS provided and no other information supplied.
It costs a small fortune to get qualified here for structural stuff. That might explain why here in the UK a lot of firms don't get ISO and BSI certified?
Another reason is, some dude that has never switched a welder on comes in and inspects your books, methods, paperwork and charges £1,000 for an hours work plus the same for each worker and goes away smiling after his audit.
There a few places that test welders and I have been quoted £1,200inc Value Added Tax (VAT here in the UK) to get tested to do one welding code test that covers vertical up and horizontal.
Have a great Sunday and week ahead.
      Best regards, Jon.
