Absolute loved watching that day trip, i love Liverpool and you’ve made me want to visit again!
I didn't ride the trains nearly enough when I went, got too distracted 😂
Need to go back without the camera for a proper explore!
Put the coffee downnnn
Saint Michael's was the station for the Liverpool Garden Festival, in the 1980s, it was the centenary of Marks and Spencer that year, so they were paying for certain projects, as part of their centenary. The clothing labels on Marks and Spencer clothes all had Saint Michael's, in italics, as their logo. The sign was in the same italics as the logo on the clothing label.
Trains Station 🚉
What a great video, as usual of course. Always nice when your cameraperson joins you to be fair 😜💕 xxxx
It is very nice yes, made nicer when a lovely person buys us both a coffee 😀xxxx
@@GLovesTrains oh absolutely, tops the day off haha xxxx
I enjoyed all aspects of the video, but I did particularly enjoy trying to spot whether or not the cameraperson was holding the cam for each shot.
This was yet another fantastic Vlog G there are definitely some amazing coastal areas along the Mersey Rail Network Southport certainly looks like a place worth visiting even tho it was windy I glad you had a awesome day out on the rails until your next adventure wherever that may take you carry on being awesome keep up the good work take care and stay safe
Bromborough ,Southport, sandyhill, they were all beautiful,it's Fabolous,it's so far nice to see ,as beautiful way out
Omg so cool! And what a fun day you seem to have had! I love just riding around on light rail systems here in the US. This reminded me of that! Thank you for sharing!
I actually use a saveaway on the Walrus Card or the Cheshire Day Ranger when I go on Liverpool Merseyrail
How do you get that?
Fab video as always! Love the traditional windy British beach!
Another brilliant video x
That was absolutely brill G. You seemed to have a lot of fun!
Long live the Merseyrail PEPs!
Another cracking video from you as always G 😊
Sadly G, it's not the cheapest Day Ranger, I'm sure it's the Cheapest in the Northwest of England but there a cheaper one which is £4, £2.65 with a railcard in Cornwall, St. Ives Bay Line Ranger but that day ranger only allows you to travel between 5 stations between St. Erth and St. Ives. However, it a lovely video revisiting some areas on the Merseyrail Network.... How was Bromborough Kate lol
Thanks Cyber, I shall change the title haha. Kate was alreet, after a visit from you I think 😂
Fantastic video G 😁 I love the Southport line too... Southport is ace! I need to get there again sometime soon. Thanks for sharing 😁
Awesome video G Love Trains
Fantastic video as always
Hey, love your enthusiastic presentation. Keep on making this content!
Hello G fantastic vlog ive travelled all over on the merseyrail on all the 507 +508 need to go again when the new units finally start working ive not seen any yet .Glad to see you having a fantastic time there is definitely lots of places to visit along this network that was nice to get the free coffee's looking forward to seeing your next amazing journey ❤❤
Hello Stuart, thanks a lot! 😁
Sometimes a day ticket is better value an cheaper than a normal return. Plus the the day ticket you get more train options an route options to.
Good video. 🙂
i do love merseyrail! commute everyday, this is a good video idea G!
Excellent video 👍🏻
I've really enjoyed this vlog, the Merseyrail day saver is very good for getting around merseyrail, you've explored some areas that I've yet to check out as well. I've never ridden an e scooter myself largely due to me just being against them thanks to all the people who ride dangerously on them, my brother has one and he's sensible on it though. But I dunno if I dare try an e scooter lol. And finally that wind, it really did blow you away lol.
3:19 I was about to say ‘oh I see them frequently’ then you said this 😂 made sense, that’s the section where least care is given so it’ll be where the older ‘character’ stock is ran 😂
Great video G. Looks like you had fun.
Love the Irish dancing at the end 😂🇮🇪👍
I recall the first day the pair of PEP prototypes (4001 & 4002) turned up over 40 years ago on the Shepperton to Waterloo line, accompanied by a bunch of clipboard wielding 'mukketing airheads' keen to find out what we passengers thought of these new PEP's as replacements for our beloved 4-SUB's (with comfy 4inch deep horsehair stuffed seat cushions).
Upon being asked our opinion of B.R's idea of reducing the number of seats so that "...more people can stand in comfort...", said airheads were surprised by the response "...If B.R. were to remove ALL the seats, then EVERYONE could stand 'in comfort...'"!
AND YET - As the PEP's service life draws to a long overdue(?) end, I still much enjoyed (albeit from a safe distance!) watching G's energetic day out, full of enthusiasm as usual, on a shed load of PEP's around Merseyside.
Well done G - a real dose of nostalgia just for yours truly! xx
You remember that well! Aww thanks Pete 😀
Awesome video as always, G! I love the smell of the trains, haha. It’s great to see a video of the 507 and 508 in action by you. Maybe we’ll see you do one of these on a 777! Unfortunately, I’ve not seen a train flicker in a tunnel for years. Great video, I thoroughly enjoyed watching.
Great vlog G, nice to see you have overcome your claustrophobia of the tunnels, loved the nostalgic look back at ' The North West by Train - Day 3' and your visits to all the hills and flowing water, that ticket is really good value, looks like you were in for a hearty tea with all that grub from Aldi. As ever entertaining and funny keep them coming. looking forward to the next one, stay safe.
Haha cheers Beakerz 😁
Brilliant video I was enjoying your videos
Love your vlogs G you’ve gone from strength to strength love it 🇮🇪🤘🏴
Great vlog of the Merseyrail network G. Some nice places you visited there! The Merseyrail day saver is great I used it myself back in May. I enjoyed watching as always.
Aye and then we met after you'd filmed yours 😂
@@GLovesTrains I’ll have to come back next year when the new trains are in service hopefully and do more on the Southport line.
Waterloo-a proper station when I was a lad.Station master, porters,a shop, proper toilets and a waiting room with a real coal fire in the winter, steam engines for the coalyard just the other side of station with lots of shunting going on-paradise!
ps-there's an app for the scooters..
its amazing to see Waterloo & Crosby beach again as i walked from B-sands & Crosby station to Waterloo station via the beach when i was up North recently its a lovely peaceful area also i did this ticket aswell and popped to a few mereyrail stations including my station St Michaels Aigburth Little Sutton Spital & West Kirby which they are all lovely stations anyway brilliant vlog
I’ve never been to Liverpool or its environs - looks like it’s definitely worth a visit. I never think they promote these day savers enough…
Fantastic as always I've never done any of Mersey rail network so great to follow you around G. Hope you didn't get blown away to far on Southport prom 😉🙂
Loved the ‘River Dance’ on the Pier, could be the start of a new career 😅. x
Real nice makes me want to do more trvelling, just love this channel, Kindest of regards Mark-Edwyn.
Great day out, lovely video, makes me want to do it myself, enjoyed it very much 👍👍✅✅
Another excellent video g I use merseyrail every day to commute to work
The “chess piece” on Bidston Hill is a disused drinking fountain and I’m old enough to remember drinking from it as a boy! They were everywhere at one time but hygiene laws etc means they’ve all gone now.
Great video as always G & loved the irish dancing ? in Southport and you have fantastic eyes
Excellent video, G! Maybe once Merseyrail have finished building Headbolt Lane, they can nip over to Aigburth and move it along the track a bit too . This vlog is a great mix of nostalgia from your previous days out on the Merseyrail network and new explorations of familiar places (and well done to your cameraperson too)!
Thanks barrowc! That sounds like a plan haha, but yeah looking forward to Headbolt Lane! 😀
Great video G. Southport was one of my parents favorite places to visit in their later years. Many happy memories, I used to joke with them that they would need to keep moving because if they stayed still too long they would be embalmed in plasticraft and stood up in a bus shelter to make the place look busy! 🤔🤣
Great as ever 👍
Another great vlog G. Mersey Day Saver is certainly great value. 507's, 508's and their cousins 313's will be missed. I'm looking forward to the new 777's but not the ironing board (rock hard) seats. My favourite terminus was West Kirkby.
Superb vlog. Loving the energy and enthusiasm you put into your vlogs. Totally entertaining. I haven't been to Merseyside since 1983. Trains look brighter and stations more looked after now. You love your flowing water, sea, rivers, lakes, when are you going to take in a waterfall? There must be one you can get to in your area. Keep them coming G, loving your excellent work, Ray x
I've seen a couple of waterfalls, must find a big one! 😂
@@GLovesTrains 🤣😂🤣😂
Hiya G, it looks like you had a really grand day out my friend
Great little video this, G! Re St Michael's, they took out the old ramps and are replacing them with lifts!
Thanks glovestrains you inspired me to do my own merseyrail trainbash. I to visited West Kirby and changed at Birkenhead Ham Square to go to Ellesmere Port. While at ham square, a security lady gave me dirty looks while I took pics of the trains! I believe you had problems at lime street before, I dont know why the staff there are like that. Thanks for the vids, keep up the good work! 🙂🚄👍
Excellently enjoyable... I remember the 507/508s arriving at Southport back in my youth. Seems strange that they are still there and now older than the stick they replaced 🤦🏻♂️
Nice one G. The PEPs are still going strong on Merseyrail which is good since the new 777s were on test
Snottytastic video ❤️
Riverdance on Southport Pier, shame you couldn't go to the end where you could see a Blackpool Tower!!! Great video G!!
Very good vlogs
Thanks Scott!
Liverpool is the best city in the world ❤️ Good to see yer G 👍
4:49 some spittle at Spital 😂
I never travelled on the whole Merseyrail network.
Hello, GLovesTrains here and welcome to another episode of finding every blackpool tower in the UK. Imagine if that series was real.
Port Sunlight village if not been is worth a look as is a walk out to Hilbre Island from West Kirby. Red squirrels at Freshfield in the summer also worth exploring
1:15 it truly is an oversight to not rectify the no toilets thing on the new fleet, as their ‘we have station access’ & ‘ a short service’ is misleading given how few toilets there are & they’re often unattended via intercom or locked away
I had a guard tell me once when I was pressing the intercom for it ‘ah mate you’ll not get anyone this time of night’ - I get that they may think toilets could be trashed but they’re not a service who can guarantee they’ll not say skip 1/3 of the stops towards Chester as they’re running late, there’s essentially no access to toilets on the network bar Hooton & that I think is only as the buzzer to get into it was broken and they left it (btw anyone reading this - don’t use that toilet unless you can pee standing up - it’s FILTHY)
The Merseyrail Day Saver certainly is excellent value for money
There were quite a few memories of your visits to Merseyrail stations in the Exploring the North West series, the Horn y Road sign, your Merseyrail flipflops and whatever that thing is called at Waterloo (made my arms ache just watching it)
And I see they still haven't moved the platforms at Aigburth 😂
Nah they still ain't moved 'um! 😂 thanks Thornaby 37!
Great video and not too bad a price, although i see it is now £5.95, for the all zone ticket.
Is there any kind of ticket that lets you travel on the trains and buses, like in London and also in Edinburgh (tram and bus)
Brilliant vlog again G, bit windy in Southport 🤣ha ha , you coming over to Yorkshire soon?
Woo made it to sunny Southport shame the pier was closed with the old fashioned penny slot arcade at the end
I live on the Chester / Elesmere Port lines. Going away from Liverpool you can get a seat no problem, going in its most likely i have to stand and there is no more room for anyone
Miss my home town and your vids scratch that itch, though I thought you'd wait til the 777's come in to do this.
Just how much stuff did you buy in Aldi's?! GLovesGroceryShopping! Nice to see a bit more of Merseyside in this one. Southport is lovely - on my list of places to visit.
You’re videos are really nice to watch G - keep the really good work up! Just wanted to know what’s the difference between the class 507 and 508? Sending appreciation from Greater London
508's have a larger compressor as they were originally 4 car units on the Southern region,
I do like Southport but Central to Southport has to be my most hated line on Merseyrail to me it seems to take for ages. I do think Merseyrail should look at some sort of express service for southport to Liverpool when they finally get the new trains going.
Witam i dobry wieczór właśnie cię oglądam jesteś miła i uśmiechnięta miłego ciepłego słoneczka i miłej jazdy pięknymi pociągami
Cracking vid as always 😊
If ever you return…Savaway tickets are even better than the rail one. Loaded to a MetroCard it includes trains, busses and FERRIES. Cost is £5.65 plus a one off £1 activation fee.
Factor in the ferry ticket price is £11.50 alone it’s a Barry Bargain 😂
Witam dobry wieczór co tam u ciebie słychać jakie dzisiaj pociągi nakręcałaś świeże filmy pięknych perełeczek mówił Adrian Elite stacja PKP Bierutów ogólnie dzisiaj ma pięknie wesoły dzień na słoneczko piękny humorek też i pozdrawiam na razie miłego filmowania ślicznie w perełeczek
But can you do every station in Lancashire in a day ;)
I do like the Merseyrail day saver.
Hey G great vlog luv ...... How is yourself hope your well x 💋💯😊
I love travelling around Merseyside by train, although it is 20 years since I last did so. Is the DaySaver the same price during the week?
Yep same price!
I bet you can’t wait to see the Class 777 coming into service from next year and a Class 507 and Class 508 farewell tour. I will definitely miss the Class 507 and Class 508.
What date is the farewell tour?
@@Class777 I have no idea. But it should be next year hopefully.
4:49..... is that man giz one would hope not lol
You wish you done this from 08/10/22 now as you could add a bit of Eurovision in it as Liverpool is the host city!!
I'm in Southport would love a trip out with you
Nah luv it’s never sunny over here and always paying for that £5.60 day saver😂😂 when the new trains come out you’ll have to do another one of these!!
Personally, I would have gone from Walton to Rice Lane. Then you wouldn't have to cross that rickety old bridge. I've always felt unsafe whenever I've had to cross it.
I found Another Place oddly moving. Made me consider the fragility of life coupled with hope - hope that the tide will ebb. And you know what they say happens when the tide goes out?
Go To Maghull North and Maghull Oh dont forget Town green :D
The Ellesmere port trains don't call at bromborough rake
Another cracking video G 💯.I used to be into football years ago and would always look forward to Tuesday evenings when evening games took place. Now though,i have your videos to look forward to! I do think you would benefit from adding a donation button to the channel,it would help you re-coup your travel costs and allow funds for updating your recording equipment.
Interesting you should mention "two Blackpool towers" when refering to electricity pylons.New Brighton once had a tower,a rival for Blackpool though i think only the base exists now
Thanks Owen!
Love bidston Hill bidston lighthouse is the most furthest inland lighthouse in the world
St Micheal’s is like a building site as angry are finally putting in lifts.
It was the first station that I went to on my first visit to the International Garden Festival in 1984.
Ayy, love me some Merseyrail, I do. The day saver is shockingly cheap, must say. It's even £2.80 if you're aged 18 and under! A luxury that I will imminently no longer be able to have.
I'm always on the trains I'm always in Southport
Aigburth is pronounced eggburth. Great video, though
Criminal GLoves trains. Tutting like King tut on tut pills! You didn't do new Brighton or West Kirby! Hope you didn't make the mistake I once did and go from North western via St. Helens, Thought I was going to die it took that long....
The cast iron phallic thing on the path is to stop knobheads going through in cars.
W ogóle gołębieje widzę wiatry u was pewnie się na wietrze pogoda zimna albo chłodna pewnie cześć mówił Adrian Eli stacja PKP Bierutów
Sneaky quick cut from Spital to spittle! Apparently the place name meaning is connected to (ho)spital
Ah the penny drops! 😂
Great video g not sure it's a good idea to talk to yourself on a train people might give strange looks stay well
always get a laugh watching you, total loon but thats alight, what they say takes one to know one, yeah likely
Hey love what’s with the undies on your head and singing that silly little song
Amazing vlog ❤️ @glovestrains
