i felt bad for the trainees, they obviously needed a lot of support but Jony J wasn't able to provide that and it's their careers that are on the line

Jony J was there to guide them, even give them some tips and insights, he tell them what they lack so the trainees can improve them. that's basically all his job and the rest is for the trainees individual capabilities if they can improve or not, if they still can't learn from it then that's not the mentor's fault. I mean some look like they're not even willing to learn, they just want to focus on what they're good at
@@elislambino4532 telling someone what they're lacking isn't enough, they're not dumb they have a good idea themselves. Being bad at something obviously means they don't know how and where to improve and they need someone who's able to give them methods that help them, which Jony J did not do well. Being a good mentor means you're able to help people who aren't good, not just those who are already talented. Yes, he does not need to do more than tell them their insufficiencies, but if he really did care and was a good mentor, the trainess would have learned more from their time with him. So he did not "guide" them. But remember this is a show for entertainment and many things are cut out so there are many things we don't see.
@@darkrose3509 my bad, at first i don't see it as they "don't know" i see it more as they "don't want" to learn, you can see they have no hope. i mean as a teacher it's kinda hard to teach someone who is not even interested in your field plus there's only limited time. the most he can do is to let them become more interested in rap and try the basics and that's just it. he can't make them "good" eventually specially when the students is like that.
Well he didn't do d best job, and proven when he eventually wouldnt even let girls onto his team in later challenge

Agreed, she ate up the stage. Her expression, her eyes, smile almost every part of her was magnetic and you couldnt look away, she has the IT factor. she is similar to Lisa in that respect. whenever a performer with the IT factor is on stage, they immediately turn on their charm and the audience can't help but focus on them.

melody rap group didn't do too bad. nikita huang cried a little too much but at least she took it seriously. i know for luna qin it was hard to rap with more power because she is normally calm, but it came out good this time. only bad thing really was bobo li who sounded the same, she did not try...

The last rap group is the best performance in the RAP PERFORMANCE. I'm a fan of Keyin and Bunny but the last group really hits hard like all of the members really did well. AND OF COURSE GOSHHHHHH SHAKINGGGGGG YOU ARE INDEED A STAR.
I agree with you, but there is something about stage presence and Shaking and her group definitely had a feminine charm, it attracted the audience more. For me as a guy, I prefer the last group also, they had much more power in their rap. But the audience votes, not you or me.

I'm no expert on symbolism/metaphor but "The Minds of Billy Milligan" is a (non-fiction) book from 1981 about a man who is arrested and tried for the murders of 3 women. He was acquitted because of insanity caused by his multiple personalities - the first court decision of this type. I salute Wilber Pan if that was the foundation of this song. And the members of the group adapted the lyrics.

….was it hard to get Lisa an IEM and a translator? It’s insulting. And don’t get me started on the treatment of Handong. She’s been a professional idol for years at the point this show was filmed and you’re telling me she didn’t make it onto one of the stages for the theme song? Nope, no, that BS.
Lisa does have a translator, they try to keep her out of the shot but you can still see her sometimes (for example during the demo stages she's hiding behind Lisa's chair) That's why Lisa can speak thai and the trainees, public and mentors understand her, there is a translator in the room. She still tries to speak english to speed things up since it's slower for her to talk then the translator says the same thing but in chinese.

I don't speak English very well but I just can't hold myself back from leaving a comment here.
I can't understand why Shaking's team could win. Girls were really cute and charming, indeed, but the whole perfomance was like a copypaste of what typical pop groups do. Meantime, Marco Lin's team had absolutely impressive image, powerful movements and voices, and the most important the great idea in their song which everybody performed on high level
Mentors said much in previous episodes about how originality of every person in band is important. But actually I don't see anything unique in the first team

Its a shame this show doesnt perform more American songs due to copyright issues, I feel the rap competition would be even more entertaining with American rap songs. Rewatching it a 2nd time and Shaking and her group still amazes me SA Wah Dee Ka!!!
Why would an Asian show with a majority of Asian viewers do American rap songs? Do Americans even sing Asian songs on their shows? (Thai, Hangul etc) I think your comment was slow and X factor and that exist. They do American song raps there already so why not watch that for that aspect instead?
