      @@PhilbyFavourites I know you were asking the other commenter about how often he has had to draw his weapon but I have had to draw my weapon once in the last 5 years. I was getting gas and two guys pulled up beside me and asked if I had $20 that they could have. I said no and the passenger got out with a knife and told me to give him my billfold. I pulled my firearm from my holster on my right side and before I could point it at him he ran back to the car and they sped off. Had I not had my handgun they might have stabbed me, or at the very least taken my wallet. It shook me up pretty bad for a while.

    It's good to see that the revolver remains a good choice as a weapon of self-defense in the US. Here in Brazil there are many who do not recognize revolvers as a good choice. They call them obsolete compared to pistols. Thank you and merry christmas Jerry and friends. Greetings from Brazil.

    I have one 442 (no lock) and bought another about 3 years ago. The new one was to be a spare in case the other needed repair or similar. The new one shot way left at 10 yards and of course, moreso at 25 yards. Sent it back to S&W. It returned a month or two later, less off at 7 and 10 yards but still unacceptably left at 15 and 25 yards. I contacted S&W and they sent me another mailing label and told me they didn't think "Customer Service" would do anything if it hit the target at 10 yards. I sent the gun back, including a letter asking that they get someone on their staff with the ability to hit center mass on a silhouette target at 25 yards to wring it out and see to it that the gun was right before sending it back. Months later, I get my gun back. Included are shot targets and documentation showing the gun hit the targets at 10 yards. Among the notes in the box, is one saying in effect that the gun hits the target at ten yards and nothing more was done to it. I called S&W and asked to speak to a manager. Instead, I get an underling who tells me that their policy is that if the gun hits the target at 10 yards, it is good by their standards. I told him that this is a 💩 standard, then.
    I love the 442 design, weight and accuracy (the older one will put rounds center mass on a B-27 all day long at 25 yards and beyond). The new one, the one they told me meets their "standard", will put the rounds in the target's right (my left) shoulder and arm area or off of the silhouette and onto white paper at 25 yards. I would like to have another 442 that was accurate but I cannot risk spending another $400 on a gun that I find unacceptable to carry.
    Jerry, could you help mediate this for me?
    Smith and Wesson should be ashamed.

    What kind of grips do you prefer on a j frame to balance concealability with shootability when carrying full powered 357 magnum? There are so many to choose from...boot grips, standard grips, adding Tyler t grips, combat grips, altai grips, banana grips, bantam grips, secret service grips, and the list goes on and on and on. I know everything is a tradeoff.

    How do you keep strong side belt carry concealed every time you need to pull out your wallet?

    • @happyamerican3235
      @happyamerican3235 Před 9 měsíci

      I know this depends on your shirt you’re wearing but having your wallet in another pocket is the best option. If you know what you need in you’re wallet for (cash,card) have it already moved to a front pocket before you’re in public. You can also turn your body in a direction to hide your firearm if you know it will be visible when accessing your pocket. Or do what I do and have your wife pay and pay her back later lol. I ankle carry my 360pd mostly but having holster options in your vehicle can help you stay armed if your clothes/environment changes. I have uncle mikes for Ankle, Blackhawk for OWB, and a Sticky holster too. If I was a woman I’d have a purse and a belly band option as well.
