The Rolex president is hands down the best watch that Rolex makes. It's easy to set the day and date function, it's very practical for everyday use and it's made of precious metal all the way around. You just don't get any better than that. In an age of cell phones, watches have become accessories and there's no better premium accessory for a man than the Rolex Day-Date 40 in my opinion. 💯
Your day-date is a legendary status watch Bruce. Definitely a watch I’d love to own. I’m a bracelet guy too and that’s one of the best, if not the best bracelet ever produced.
@@torqueofthedevil8145 The other concern I have is it a hard piece to wear since it screams “wealth”. I could see wearing it in a business situation or wedding, but not wearing it for every day use.
The yellow gold DD is for men that don’t care what other people think about him or what he earns just because a guy has a yellow gold Rolex on his wrist doesn’t mean that he’s rich. You could buy one that is 30 or 40 years old between 12 and $15,000 or you could get one a little newer 20-30 years old for 18-30k or a brand new one for 38-42k and from a few feet away people all they’ll see is the iconic presidential bracelet.I have a mint bark finish 18248 36mm and love it
Perfection. This rolex is my grail watch too. The yellow gold with champagne dial is gorgeous! It's the perfect combination, precious metal, Rolex brand, this is truly timeless with maximum impact, maximum resale value.
I was in the budapest rolex AD 2 days ago and tried on the day date 36 (I'm a small wristed guy). It was absolutely magic. I felt like I put on the lord of the rings power ring. I will own this watch one day and I will work as hard as it takes to own it.
Great move Bruce! You have to give big! To get big! Great choice on that Daydate! When you’re done playing with tin-can steel sport Rolex; all roads lead back to the Daydate! The details in that new DD40 also unpeel slowly over time. That is not a boring piece at all. Keep up the outstanding work!
I was initially heartbroken that you nuked your beautiful collection. Then I thought that you have attained, at a very young age, a life goal in your watch journey. Congratulations on your latest Watch achievement. Cheers!
This is one of the most refreshing and true to self collecting moves I've seen on a watch channel. Kudos on keeping your Cartier too. The naysayers to both are probably clueless or doing so to sleep better at night.
Day-Date is nothing boring. It has been a dream watch of me for years. Nevertheless, yellow gold with silver dial or rose gold with green dial are my favorite choices.
Congrats on your day date 40! I rem my first DD40. I was glued at looking at that watch dial. I still have a DD40 but moved to rose gold from yellow and did the fully factory pave and diamond bezel.
Imo the Rolex day date in yellow gold is greatest watch ever. Nothing beats that classic yet modern design. It goes with everything. From a suit to a track suit. It’s my grail watch
I admire it. I'm 40, and toyed with the idea of yg dd for my birthday, in the end went for a black ss daytona. I'll join you one day with one, I'm just not ready yet.
There is nothing boring or predictable about the 228238 in YG. I went with the exact configuration and can’t stop looking at it. Pure sophistication and elegance. Wear it and enjoy it in health. Cheers
I think you absolutely made the right choice Bruce a daydate is timeless elegance it will never go out of style if I was a baller like you I'd get one too but Rose gold for me
I really enjoy your channel Bruce. Just know that you don’t need to justify yourself. It is ok to like what you like, and you don’t need others’ approval for your decision to be valid ❤
I can totally get the Day date in gold. I always tought the Sub was it for me. Then I got a Yachtmaster and it just feels more special. Most of us star sporty and rugged but time softens the edges of man and his watches, and we desire precious metals and intricate bracelets more when we go into battle less.
That's my Grail watch one day I'll make my dream come true you made the right decision Bruce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wear it in good health for many years to come always watching your six.
At 40, I think I'm too young for a YG Day Date for style and identity. Stunning watch but not the time yet for me. This is the GMT and Daytona, SS Patek/RO/Overseas era. Regardless, congrats Bruce. Killer piece.
Bruce, first of all, you're insane! Can't believe you let all those beauties go! But.....your new Day date is amazing. I would not have made the switch but I TOTALLY understand why you did. Stunning watch and a fun reset. Can't wait to see what your 3rd watch to the collection is. Keep up the vids!
I have owned three Day Dates since the 1970’s, updating them as the movements changed and the bracelet became solid 18k yellow gold. My current D/D was purchased in 2013, the 118238. To me it is the perfect watch in 36mm.
The day-date is the only Rolex on my wish list. It has never been boring and it will never be. It is a timeless classic, the ultimate symbol of elegance. I prefer the one with the baton hour markers; the roman numbers make the dial messy..
Bruce congratulations and you made the right decision!! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! Just got my DD yellow gold white dial and Roman numerals !! Can’t get any more elegant and traditional.
I bought the same day date but with baguette markers last year. Hard to appreciate them until you actually HANDLE one in the flesh. Precious metal is mesmerizing in person.
Total respect and love your channel. I just can't get the "retired old man with hairy arms living in Florida" image out of my head when I see the watch. So I couldn't pull it off. But it does indeed look good on you.
Great review addressing questions many of us have. Like dealing with regret over selling, or buying the wrong timepiece, or simply getting confused by not being able to stay focussed on that grail watch. Love the day-date cause how can you really go wrong? IMHO its not possible to mess up unless you buy from a questionable source, and then that's not the watches fault. Love your yellow gold president, seems to work well on you.
As long as your happy with the purchase, nothing else matters. But please stop sayin that your going to keep it for a long time, given your history of collecting

Hey Bruce, the Day Date is seriously mesmerizing, a true beauty, and a wonderful piece to last you a lifetime. Still, of all the great watches you have owned, I am impressed and intrigued by your choice to keep the Pasha. Day Dates are great, but I cannot get behind the modern high polish case versions. It's just too much imo, I hope they return to brushed cases one day 🙏
