Equine Ball Play - Herd-Based Learning & Fun!

- My crew of wild and semi-feral horses have never seen a giant horse-sized ball before. What do they think of it and how will they react? I don't want to 'train' them to play with the ball - I simply want to see what they feel about it. Then I want to join them in playing and co-learning.

Hello beautiful crew! Hi Jinni and Katrina. What a lovely day. Posa seems so intrigued by the ball and there's so much communication going between them all. I agree that 'think time, takes time'. I really enjoy watching my pony make his choices. The looks you got when you sat on the ball made me laugh! That ball looks better and a bigger size from the ones I've seen before - great choice. Thanks for the play date.

So interesting. I saw cobra as the first to react to the ball with a wet poop (physical processing) then he was really learning through everyone else and needing a lot of psychic space to process before he could go up to it. I used to take my yoga ball out to my horses and we would pass it back and forth while walking. He wasn’t super exuberant about it but if you want to see some high action play look up “atomic soccer” on CZcams. Thanks for the horse time Jini and the herd. 😘

@@ListenToYourHorse It’s on Karen Rohlf’s channel. She was there playing with him but really doesn’t get involved once he gets going! He’s REALLY into it and exuberant and is a horse that likes to be in control of everything so not surprising that he’s into it. Enjoy xo

Have you thought about your fear regarding getting injured makes them less playful.? I would step back and start with a ball they could grab with their mouth or use a beach ball while your filming that way they may interact more in a playful setting without your fear being their focus. In a sense. lol

This channel is about 3 yrs old? This video about 1yr old? These horses have Never had Balls or pasture toys before?? Looking hard to see just how these critters do get their daily work outs?
I enjoyed watching the herd reacting to a novel object but I noticed that Cobra seems to be rather overweight - is he OK? You mentioned in a previous video that when he first came to you he became overweight as a reaction to the scarcity of his prior life in the wild. Is that still an issue?
Cobra goes up and down all the time. Did you see the blog post on the issue? His weight can still vary a lot, but he's healthy and great movement - he did ask for herbs to help his metabolism a few weeks ago, so he's aware of it: listentoyourhorse.com/help-my-horse-is-fat/

FYI I do not get any of my notifications so I tried a little trick of unsubscribing and resubscribing and clicking all again maybe it just needed to be freshened up or something cuz believe it or not I've actually been a subscriber for a long long time I just without getting the notifications and stuff I kind of forgot about it and I was at a different place too and my headspace in life but yeah I did that little trick if it keeps happening I'll let you know in case others are letting you know as well okay honey so do thank you and appreciate you and all the horses every single one I honestly don't have a favorite they each have brought me something amazing and I'm kind of shocked at how often I get the epiphanies from this channel you know and it's not like it happens to me all the time or anything so it's kind of profound much love always and forever
