1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe, Stored For 12 Years, Will It Run?

Bringing back to life a 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe! Off the road for 12 years, 2 of 4 wheels work great. Can we get it running? Ultra cool classic but for some reason these metric tools don't fit...

Just picked up a beautiful Survivor… 1949 dodge deluxe four-door… 37,800 miles… Mint interior… Hasn’t been driven on the road since 1972… Presents beautifully… Love these cars… Super reliable… Back in the 70s I drove my 52 Dodge halfway across Canada and back! We still have that car but the rust demons have attacked it and we have yet to fix it.

My Great Uncle had one just like it pastel green with a sun visor. He lived to a month shy of his 100th Birthday. He drove it up till about age 95 we use to walk to his house for a visit back in the mid 60's that back seat sure seemed huge to a 5 year old as he drove us home. He had given the car to one of his sons later a grandson wrecked it my brother and I looked to see if we could fix it there was way too much damage.

The "nautical theme" as you question is in relation to the Plymouth as in the ship, the Plymouth. Remember history class ...notice the ship on the hood ornament?

Alternate is part of 12 volt conversion, it came with a generater
