    Good morning. I had never heard of ghee until this video. I tried it and it does have a nutty taste. I also made a second batch and infused roasted garlic in it. i'm a garlic freak so i usually add to almost anything. Thanks Joy 😃

    Hi Joy! Glad I found your channel. Love your enthusiasm and the way you explain the process. I have some tips to add if you allow me: If you strain the liquid through a cheesecloth you'll get rid of all the foam at the top making it a clearer ghee. Also, I have read that ghee is very shelf stable, so, it should last a long time in the cupboard. I personally keep the butter in the fridge. Have never made Ghee, but thinking about making it very soon. Thanks and wish you success!

      @@debiwilburn2480 Hi! Thank you for your valuable input. In fact, I had never made ghee when I wrote that comment around three years ago. I have since made ghee several times, by the way. The tip about straining the liquid to get rid of foam is a very common practice in cooking, so I felt I could make that comment. My intention was not to offend the author, and I don’t think I did. But I appreciate you just wanted to add your valuable opinion to the thread. Have a nice day!

      And can I tell you one thing, this video is not completely "homemade ghee". As, butter is readymade. You can cook ghee by making homemade butter(especially cow butter). That ghee will be super healthy.

    IF you use salted butter, it binds to the solids, anyway, making them very salty, and there will be NO SALT in the end product (GHEE).

      Is Ghee better than Organic Coconut Oil?

    • @joyoushealth
      @joyoushealth  Před 5 lety +1

      No not better, just different. It's like comparing an apple to a pear. Both have nutritional benefits and different uses. I don't use only ghee as a fat for cooking, I use coconut oil, butter (depending on the temperature), extra-virgin olive oil and occasionally grapeseed oil. Coconut oil has wonderful immune building qualities while ghee is excellent for the gut microbiome. You can read more about the health benefits here: www.joyoushealth.com/27266-blog-how-to-make-ghee
