    What'd you use to place them on the wall? Did you use some kind of special glue, regular hot glue? Or maybe mounting putty?
    Thanks Paul

      kingofprunes Actually, I used small nails. I positioned the nails where I wanted them and then just popped the letter over them.

    Hi Paul! This is so helpful. Do you have any advice on how to trace letters that are more curved? Trying to do this with the letter C. Any advice would be appreciated! I'm stuck!!

    You can always sand the Styrofoam lightly to eliminate some of the roughness

    • @discipleprojectoutreach
      @discipleprojectoutreach  Před 7 lety +12

      You know, we asked our students what they wanted to get out of our weekly meetings, and one of the students said, "I want to be lifted" and there was another comment that said almost he same thing. We looked at what students said and we went with LIFT. Our goals is tow fold If we LIFT Jesus up, all men shall be drawn to him and we are to lift one another up. We streamlined why we meet and now everything revolves around those two things. Thanks for watching!

      That's awesome! I ask, because I came on as a youth pastor at my current church late last year, and early this year we renamed ours as well. LIFT is also or name, and along with the meaning you ascribed, be also use it to outline our goals as a group.
      L.I.F.T.
      Love (each other and God)
      Inspire (lead by example and show what a life lived for Christ can be)
      Fellowship (hangout with and encourage other believers)
      Train (teach them what it means to live for Christ, to worship Hom, and to be His church)
      We are revamping our youthroom as well, and I would love to share some of the design stuff we've done for LIFT in case any of it is useful.

    You may have had a problem with it melting and having to wipe it frequently because of the silver backing. You are supposed to remove it before cutting.

    • @discipleprojectoutreach
      @discipleprojectoutreach  Před 6 lety

      I had to go back and watch the video, but I am pretty sure I removed the backing. I probably should have shown that part as well. Thanks for watching.

    • @kkgibbs1
      @kkgibbs1 Před 6 lety +5

      Paul Turner 6:52 the silver on the back of the "L" is what I'm referring to. There is a clear seal on one side and a silver on the other. Both are supposed to be removed. Just mentioning it because I hadn't had the melting problem you had and everything we (you & I) did was exactly the same other than the silver backing being removed.

      I may have said it wrong, sorry I was talking about the letters did you have a stencil of some sought to trace the letters on to the board to cut out?

    • @discipleprojectoutreach
      @discipleprojectoutreach  Před 7 lety +1

      I used a measuring stick and measured out the letters on to the cardboard and then I took a straight edge to connect my points. The good thing is that the foam cutter cuts straight even if my lines are a little messed up.

      Kmw2 WH70 Good question. I don’t know how absorbent or not absorbent the foam is. Once you cut it I would think it would becomes more absorbent. You might could spray it with a sealant but I don’t know how that would interact with the foam. Sorry, I wish I had an exact answer.
