    OK, Naomi didn't think she was difficult....Um...girl, you want a large move-in ready open plan house with lots of charm and character and light that's done to your exact specifications and tastes in your ideal neighborhood.. How is that not being difficult? lol

    A three-cat episode!
    Sledgehammer Kirstie is at it again! I love Kirstie, but I'm one of these apparently rare people who hates the privacy averse open plan concept. It also is deadly to any hope of preserving period character.
    But that 17th century house ... my oh my. It might have had too much character. Only very short people could live there. The ceilings and doorways were astonishingly low.
    I bought a house in 1992 that had a car dealership across the street and a vacant industrial building across the back alley. Both are gone now, replaced by condos. Concerns about such issues are understandable, but then again things might well turn out just fine. Personally I would not hesitate to buy a property next to some industrial sites, after gathering some information of course.
    Naomi the bodybuilder: She has seen all the research Kirstie did for her, she has a long list of very specific musts, and she still believes something will pop up? I fully understand her disappointment about the house she had moved in mentally (I just went through something similar about adopting kittens - they were already mine in my head and my heart), but the market is getting away from her rapidly.

    That first house Phil showed Carl and Liz at the smaller budget has major potential. There could be an extension into the attic to give the 3rd bedroom, allowing the first floor to be reconfigured. Also, the cellar room could be improved vastly by digging an area way at the back, allowing direct access to the garden. That might be possible at the front, allowing a lower ground floor flat to be created.😊

      The cat might have liked it 🙀 😻 😾 but with them being so picky/independent it would be a toss up, at least for my 19.5 yrs old girl. Actually, I thought of it more as storage or a place for extra clothes, sheets, blankets, pillows but you definitely would have to get around on your knees. And mind could not take it. ✌🏻

    That woman is being very foolish in a rising housing market. Four years ago, I sold a breathtaking, historic Tudor home in Michigan for a soulless, 1979 ranch with popcorn ceilings and original bathrooms. But the space was great, and the location in Florida was perfect. Today, I couldn't afford to buy this house. You can ALWAYS add character cheaper than adding space.

      I bought a new build in SC in 2000 after looking at character houses for a year. The character houses were at the top of my budget and most needed pricey renovations. I have enjoyed this house for 23 years with minor cosmetic upgrades.

      You did not sell a real ‘Tudor’ home in the USA … faux /mock / made to look Tudor ‘style’ but not actual Tudor as there were none there in Tudor times,you mean the 1840-1940 USA influenced houses 😂😂
      Actual Tudor is 1483-1603 😂

    I understand wanting everything you can get, but eventually you have to trade fantasy for reality. You are never going to get a Terrace with the space of Windsor Castle, especially for 350k. Some people are just flat insane!

    Does the seller have to pay some sort of compensation when they back out like that? And does the buyer have to if they back out?

    • @AFAskygoddess
      @AFAskygoddess Před rokem +6

      I think it's OK to back out at any time in the UK. This would be a lawsuit in the US!

    • @lindap8101
      @lindap8101 Před rokem +6

      In Canada if a seller backs out of the contract (contracts are signed within hours of the verbal agreement) the buyer can sue and get a lawyer to put a caution on the title of the house which means basically the seller can’t sell it. The buyer can also has the avenue to sue to force the reneged seller to pay any extra price on the purchase of a similar house.
      If a buyer backs out he or she forfeits the deposit.
