- I'm finally sharing my Living Room Makeover and showcasing my best living room decorating ideas for anyone decorating on a budget, or looking to repurpose old decor into a new space! I've been working on this extreme DIY Living Room Makeover for months now, trying to find the perfect size area rug, furniture design, and re-style my existing home decor to give this space new life, but on a small budget. We would love to move to a bigger home, but it’s just not in the cards for us right now, so we’re making due with what we’ve got 🤗

Wow, honestly impressed with everything and I tend to be picky!! One small recommendation would be to get a much larger plain light colored rug to put under the one you have for a layered look with more coverage as the current rug is a tad too small for the space. Well done!
A larger rug is too large for the space lol. We’ve had every single size in there trying them all out
@@lovinglifeasmegan Go watch some more design videos, I think another 2 inches around would feel like it fits better. That’s my assessment.

It’s such a good white! Very cozy while still making everything feel bright!
A lumbar size pillow next to the larger pillow on the sofa would look nice too for contrast

🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 Use a white and gold round vase for the coffee table and put up a round mirror to balance the space and match the roundness of the table. You can put the mirror somewhere in the entry way.

I had this the issue with some dining chairs I bought from target that were too light. I took some walnut gel stain from min wax and just did the wipe on method in very thin layers. It will darken it a couple of shades but still show the wood grain. No sanding needed.

Try Varathan wood stain or Briwax on your chairs to darken the wood on your chairs. I would cover the fabric with plastic to ensure the stain doesn't get on it. I would also use a small sponge or glove to apply the stain in more detail. I hope these ideas work. Your home is beautiful 😍.
I think I might end up trying a gel stain, just gotta work up the nerve lol

Hi Megan! It's truly amazing how far your living room has come over the years! It looks so pretty & serene! Another idea for your bench style sofa would be a thin lumbar style pillow. It would still be simple & low profile. I Love that you updated your artwork yourself & that it gave those large pieces a bit of contrast & some difference from one another. What a great diy! u could even turn the middle one upside down for another look in the future! It all looks great & you should be so proud of yourself for what you have accomplished in not just the LR but the entire house!
