I wish I were there. I love la Montanara. I am 91 years old now. I was there when I was in my twenties, but I will never forget this beautiful place. I feel like crying every time I think about it.
I was there in 1963 when I arrived at a little hotel by the Adige river we heard this song being sung on the patio bar we joined in singing it until dawn! I will never forget those 12 hours VivA Trento and Sud Tirol Rick Buzzeo Canadian ❤

We are the people that protected the interior from the invaders against the Roman Empire. Austria and the empire lied to our people and after the first world war lied about giving our land back and our people fought for the land and many died. My grandfather led the rebellion at Bad Radkersburg. Long live the remnant of the Roman Empire which my family defended to the end.....E ano sempre cantanto la Montanara and my grandfather loved it.
It also brings WWI to mind for me as well. My mom's father dying in Northern Italy in WWI, He knew my grandmother was expecting but he died before my mom was born.
