Preach you are wrong, its not PoE league launches when something else is happening. Its everything else happens when PoE league launches.
Like, poe launches are exactly 3 months apart, they dont choose the launch dates ;p

I was going to stop playing POE 1 until POE2 as well. But… this will pull me in. Perfect Agony Glad seems like a neat build to ticker with. Especially with cornered prey and the rapture support gem.

No, this will be the town in act 4. Act 1 takes place in ezomyr which is on the other side of the continent.
@@blackomega34 No, you get hanged in Kingsmarsh, but your noose breaks and you jump into the sea. You return in Act 4 where the antagonists remembers you and call you out.
At this point, there's nothing really that can outcompete a path of exile launch

by every metric that games are measured by, it's just not. Doesn't make it a bad game, but the audience reach is intentionally small....

@@Disconnected66 see that's the thing Grinding gear games is not interested in catering to all players like most AAAs they devised the strategy years ago on how to retain a player base for years and years and years and they have proved that strategy I don't think you can come up with any other live service games that haven't had a monthly fee or or paid game with microtransactions and pay to win elements and time gates that have been as successful all these years they know how many players they need to sustain the business and they're not interested in crazy million dollar bonuses like some CEOs they put that back into the game and their workers. That's what you get when you get a game made by gamers. Now you may see much more of a player base once Path of Exile 2 comes out considering that is looking more and more like a wider audience is going to enjoy it. But we will have to see. They do tend to Make other developers look super lazy though.
@@synoxify The statistic has changed over time. However, only a couple of years ago Chris Wilson said that Steam players represented approximately 50% of their playerbase. It's unlikely to have dropped that significantly down to 10%

Im 300 hrs in and still haven't touched the whole part of this game... this league looks like my ticket to endgame. The amount of currency you get from the ship and atlas worker running is going to help me achieve more as a newb. I was going to play other games until PoE2, but this looks awesome! Most likely buying a supporter pack, again. I almost jumped back into D4... PoE ftw!
3.4k hours here and I’m still finding new things out in this game…😅 I was going to chill from APRGs for a bit but GGG just had to launch this banger of a season.
I'm 2500 hours in and have never crafted my own items, I've only run a hand full of Simulacrums, Blight Ravaged Maps, and Logbooks, haven't killed any uber bosses, never run a five-way, and there is prob stuff I'm forgetting. The game is massive

That one comment 40,000 hours. Crazy. That man been playing PoE 10-12+ hours a day sense the game launched. That's insane. Unless PoE had a couple year early access period before official launch. Then Mabey only 8 hours a day. 😂
It Had Alpha & Beta Access for the ones that Backed them on KICKSTARTER back in the Day...so that's quite possible.
I also remember one of the Tiers was like $1,000 or $1,500 and you get all of the previous Goodies Plus they would Create a Named Mob based upon your Design.

@@L0rdEsedess It was $10,000. The $1000 supporter tier let you design a unique item. I only know of Charan who did the $10,000 tier and I think his was the koala bears that slam down from the sky. He also did 3x $1000 tiers for the Goddess Bound, Goddess Scorned, and Goddess Unleashed sword trilogy though you can't make the last one anymore because it got changed into Oni-Goroshi.
poe also doesnt log you out. so if you just keep the game running only restarting it every now and then. then the hours will add up over the years.

Actually the date is the fault of kripparian. Back in the day he told Chris that he scheduled when he went live , how long and everything else and people enjoyed knowing when to prepare. So that's why we got the same 3 or now 4 month cycle with the same steps and procedure every damn time😅😅 😅😅😅

This league looks insane, it will be game changing in how a lot people will approach PoE and by extension PoE 2 and I'm totally down for it. LOGIN DUDE

Sounds like Act 1 😅 Just try to get to Act 4 and i swear the game becomes 10000 times more fun. No one likes act 1.
being committed to your character is not a bad thing. If you can just change at any point you aren't actually building anything. Your just renting an apartment and moving furniture around. Fuck that. I'd rather build a crappy house that was mine than not own any decision.

Yes.. season launch is full reset.. you can make a new character on standard league now but it will not carry over.

Would I be able to play this soon if I just got into PoE ? Cause I dont want to do the beach and all that campaign stuff, but I guess this is gonna be after the campaign is done.
season means everybody starts back from scratch, including campaign - literally everybody. It's a clean slate each season
Also league mechanic is available from start of league, meaning the town building can be done from start of the game
The settlement stuff will open up very early in act 1, but it probably won't fully develop until maps since the gold costs will be balanced around endgame play. You will need to play through the campaign to really engage with the league - same as everyone does every league.
I always find this weird because I've done the campaign probably 100s of times and still find it a fun and cozy experience. On the other hand PoE campaign is an oddity in that sense as Last Epoch campaign for example feels like torture for me.

4:50 if you could infinitaly respec in PoE, you would not have removed the need for PoB .. weak argument imo.
Yeah, they have had a skill tree planner on the website since the beginning way before PoB was a thing. I don't think Preach understands that they want you to plan your build out before hand. I would argue that building your character before hand in PoB makes you even more committed to your character, so I don't really get Preach's point when he says PoB compromises that idea. They have been very clear that the respec points are intended for small adjustments to your character and not full respecs.

This looks really cool but the combat turns me off too much. I think ill wait for poe 2 which looks a bit more tuned down and slower. In poe 1 the whole screen is just full of spell effects and mobs

You're seeing the inherent downside of seasonal models. Every new game that implements one makes every existing one worse.
Apparently I am one of the very few who is not a fan of realtime mobile game mechanics making their way into PC Games? The rewards of this also will just make people who can't log in in the morning before work or during lunch to start those timers feel bad and left behind. That was one of the reason people hated the WoW Mission Table and the mission table didn't even give good rewards. Inb4 mobile companion app gets announced to do the missions on your phone.
The devs specifically highlighted that they had multiple countermeasures to not make people feel compelled to log on when they otherwise wouldn't
difference is that in poe youre required to do nothing. you dont have to do this content if you dont want to do.
@@jerppazz4525 if you think boatloads of loot will not make people feel required to do this, then i am not sure what to tell you. People felt required to do the mission table even when it wasn'T required and didn't give good rewards.

@@countryc0unt For example you can choose the length of your boat trips, and you can queue many trips/other worker actions so you won't have to log in during work/sleep. They talked about it in the interview with ZiggyD

FF14 is not good enough, not in the slightest, to keep anyone away from anything. Maybe D4, but nothing else.

4:50 i dont use path of building . i just do my own necromancer build each season , see how far i can go , then i get fucked in the lategame and i quit lol . last time i played (the forest season) i made it to like t8-9 maps . and i couldnt progress . my expensive specters kept dying , i dealt no damage and i took tons of damage despite having 4k+ hp and 70-80 % resistances .

Each character class is a specific person with a backstory and personality, so yes they're gender (and appearance, voice etc) locked.
Crazy seeing the difference between what each community cares about. Feels like the only time I've seen people legitimately care about this topic is in Preach's community.
@@TNTspaz nah a lot of people care about that. It just doesn't make sense anymore in 2024 to just go "this class can only be this gender".
@@TNTspaz I would say it's mostly a clear divide between enfranchised ARPG players vs people who come from a broader RPG perspective where this stuff tends to be more important.
@@countryc0unt it doesn't matter though. Especially since there's a backstory tied to it. And i don't think I've seen people complaining until i came to this comment section. Vast majority of the playerbase of this game cares about the damage they can do and how good a build they can get.
