It looks very dope, however, I don't think EVs should be that big and heavy. It will drain the batteries like crazy, to the point that, you will spend more time charging it, than actually driving it...
The way they made up for itbin this is adding way more batteries. Because the range rating on these are like 329 miles still and being that heavy thats insane.

Recently an owner said he was quoted $4040 for one taillight. Turns out, each taillight retails for $3,045.48. Installed you could be looking at $7000-$8000 for a full set. For parts that are on the corner of the car, right next to where heavy cargo will be loaded in. It will be uncomfortable if they damaged.
Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. My radiator hose of an Explorer recently broke and I was shocked to learn that it costs like $80; but not as shocked as when I learn that the Hummer's is $850!.... Though this is in my country.
I want one. It's totally impractical for me, but hot damn I want one! :D It took a legacy automaker to _finally_ make EVs fun. Well done GM!

All I want to know is the range from 100% charge to 20% charge, how many cycles the battery will take, how long it takes to charge and how many kilowatts it takes to charge from 20% to full. Should start with that. Nothing else matters if it's really impractical, unless you're rich.

I work for a company that hauls a lot of GM Pre production cars, we actually can’t put these on our regular trailers because it weighs so much our lift gate can’t lift it, but they are really cool trucks and the crab walk function is a good time
I believe there's a button under front bumper to open & close frunk lid as well
The best implementation of electrifying a vehicle I think. Keeping everything people are used to like physical switches and not hiding simple things across multiple different sub menus!

One big advantage of the hummer EV is that it can be repaired at GM dealerships granted if the technicians there are qualified to work on them

@@scotmandel6699 it still takes 24 hours to charge on 220v . You can't even drive it everyday very far. It is impossible to take on a road trip. It's an over priced toy, that would get you stranded off road even with electricity. Which most off road places don't have.
A Supercharger for home is a must for these. Wall setups take about a week to charge.

So I live in Michigan and I will say this, for the past two years I’ve seen those things on the road so they are nothing new to me. I still point them out whenever I see one because they are sweet looking.
I know this because the license plate is an earlier version, we just got new blue and yellow ones this year so that hummer was probably manufactured a year or two ago.

I have that same tailgate on my GMC sierra, I don’t even want to know. I would probably just replace it with the standard tailgate. Edit: Some things on this one are unique to the hummer, but it’s basically the same.

It was fixed. I am sure it was on tfl off-road channel.
@@quality1mario876 pretty sure it was that channel as well. They had to disconnect the battery and then take it to a shop. Apparently this is a GM thing that they've been known for before EVs
and it locked itself in park so it couldn't be towed. another video shows how it takes up to 4 days to charge...but sure....great vehicle?....
@@chrismay9477 thats like saying you wouldn’t buy a gas car because it would take too long to fill with a jerry can. 4 days is for 110v which is a slow trickle charge. DC charging is what you should pay attention too.
New cars can do it between 18 mins to 40 mins depending on vehicle and battery size.
Probably towed to the nearest GMC service center, which unlike Tesla was probably less than 10 miles away unless it was in LA or NY.

When getting your car washed or even detailed you want to have a clean or new microfiber towel or two and go around your vehicle and dry off all seams and gaps because water will continue to escape out.

last Hummer model similar to this was 2010 H3 SUT. I think we all can agree that even the cheapest EV option would be the highest priced trim version of gas powered one so let’s compare them price and performance wise. The most expensive 2010 model was little over 39k but I’ll just round it out to 39, if we adjust price to inflation new 2010 model (in perfect world not including all logistics issues that we have right now) would be 53k. All Hummers are known for their insane fuel consumption and since EVs don’t have much to break and/or maintenance compared to gas fueled engines, yes you’d actually save money buying EV Hummer over new 2022 gas fueled one.

would have been nice to see a top down angle on getting into the back seat and not having to bend. I think it was not easy to tell how easy it was from the side angle cause cant tell how little the center bar impacts movement. none at all or a little bit or medium? idk cause cant tell how close you get to it. So top down would give that info I think and then i can stich that info to the side view info and just kinda know way more about that detail.
About 1% battery per mile Is the average for EVs if you are carrying multiple people or carrying any cargo. If you are going up hills it goes down substantially.
Making things that haul anything electric is counter- intuitive.

The only thing about this vehicle is that the windshield looks too skinny, and I heard that the roof leaks water if it rains because of the removable panels. No one has addressed either issue in detail yet.

12:00 Can anyone explain to me how these top-down cameras work? Unless you have a mast sticking up from the top of the car, I don't see how you can have a camera angle that points straight down.

If the Hummer EV with its 18 cameras had a similar system to Tesla Sentry Mode. Plus it had some of the solutions from the Ford F-150 Lightning like a panel between the driver and passenger that folds out into a work table and on top of that the number of outlets and the ability to charge other EVs and the house it would be the best EV 2022. Don't get me wrong it is cool and the cool way they are going I look forward to the next versions.... Temporarily the F-150 Lightning wins for me.
Bruh. The Lightning is just a high end F150 with an electric powertrain. This is a purpose-built EV with a way better interior and way more features. It is way cooler than the Lightning.

$80k+ for a SUV that takes 4+ days to charge on a regular charger, with a special charger required to take a day to charge this behemoth? Not even anything to be remotely excited over, given that most people wouldn't even want a cell phone or laptop that takes that long to charge, but costs significantly less.
It looks pretty, sure, but I'm sure anybody who cares about managing their finances would be way more interested in the Hyundai N74.

The center console is savage, i like displays but they're not good driving, you need something tactile you can reach without looking. But it being 4.5tonne even in an ev doesn't make sense, but I'd get one anyway if i could. Charge it off solar or something just to try justify it.
