  • Today's song differs from what we got used to but it was a great listen.
The song is worth to listen as an intro to further songs by Tool.

6:12 " It's some kind of psychedelic experience
Our body is light, we are immortal
Our body is love, we are eternal
    Eternal
    Omniscient
    Omnipotent
    Omnipresent
    Without judgment"
The audio samples on this track performed by Drunvalo Melchizedek. He is some kinda spiritual guru or something.
Merkaba means Mer - Light, Ka - Spirit, Ba - Body. It is in the sense state of awareness like nirvana or something. Sort of meditation.

There's only been maybe five reactions to it.
    Still one of my favourites

Danny's experimental drum solo/ intro to "Sober" way before "Chocolate Chip Trip" Both original and unique.

This is a great music for the name of the song....The MerKabah is the light body vehicle we travel through these dimensions....it has a spin when activated

When you follow the sound it seams as if its the sound of energies are spiraling up the spine(central channel)which is called the rise of the Kundalini

This song reminds me of a mix of three (technically four tracks) of their "future songs". Probably because I heard them before this one.
I wont go into details because "spoilers", but the names of those are; Parabol/Parabola, Triad, and Chocolate Chip Trip.
I wonder if He would agree.

Please dive into Maynard's other two bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Amazing discographies. Looking forward to No Quarter. Led Zeppelin was a huge influence on TOOL. ✌

The merkaba symbol is two tetrahedra superposed on each other in opposite orientation, though you can also view at as a collection of smaller tetrahedra organized as two superposed tetrahedra. It is easy to miss that the corners of the two large tetrahedra correspond to the corners of a cube. Merkaba (or merkava) means chariot or vehicle, and as a cabala-mysticism is a vehicle to enlightenment.

In my opinion there is no other band more mysterious than Led Zeppelin, especially Jimmy Page who had a particularly interesting in eastern and western mystersism. The fact the band rarely gave interviews and never appeared on tv or radio shows also added to their mystique. When they release their fourth album, it had no information on it to suggest it was LZ, not even on the spine of the cover. The only thing to be found was a series of four symbols or runes on the inner sleeve representing each band member. This just intensified the whole mystery surrounding the band. An explication to their meaning was not forthcoming, many were suggesting they were some kind of occult meaning, who knows!

This song always made me think it was more of a Danny Carey boogie intermission

Everything in the salival album is less known. Without Pushit (Salival) people may not know it even exists.
Their full discography has only recently been released on streaming platforms, but I dont think this album was added to it. It isn't on the one I use.

That one has added sounds, to do with the video, specifically. The original doesn't have these

To be fair, I have listened to all tool albums numerous times...but salival isn't one that I ever listen to. I mean I've heard it, love Pushit...but other songs I just maybe never gave much of a chance or didn't like.

You don't know Tool unless you hear Sweat, the 1st song on the 1st album they made. The whole Opiate album is under 30 mins. You should react to the whole album if you haven't yet. Sweat has a hint of everything they grew to become. Possibly their greatest song, to me

Far as I know the copyright issues are only with the original version. Some bands are just aggressive with that stuff. Lot's of people have reactions to Tool's version up so there should be no issue. Personally not interested in reactions where the song isn't part of the video.

    • @richardchurchill5181

Some of us, at least, disagree. It is experimental, it is "non-traditional" ... and interesting. Among Tool songs I have to say that it is not one of my favorites, but that doesn't mean it isn't good, only that it isn't the same. That can be said of most Tool songs: they aren't the same as other artists' efforts.

Funny, this also used to be the song I would point to being the one bad Tool song, but one time i really gave it a chance and now i really like it.

But I'm also heavily into drums and interesting time patterns and this one delivers on that.
