  • In this video we will be going over four different types/sizes of books that are on our shelves for purchasing. The following will be discussed: Hard covers, Trade Paperbacks, Mass Market Paperbacks, and the NEW Mass Market Max.
There are more sizes than these, but this gives a little insight into the different versions available as well as demonstrates how they are various different sizes within the first three types. The Mass Market Max is very size specific and so far we have not come across a different size within this type.

Worst explanation ever... What are some different book sizes? "Some are big and some are small. Some are thick and some are thin." lol Thanks! That helps a lot.

I run a book store I took over from my father, and the amount of miss informed new store operators is staggering. Myself included. the publishing industry is very old & deep with overlapping or contradictory naming conventions. So this owner's seeming ignorance of all of the proper names of the book sizes that were displayed, probably has more to do with what ever wholesaler their going through for new books and that companys own naming conventions they used for them, more so then out of peer ignorance of the subject. The book industry has sooo many myths and continently churning roomers, it can be a real chore keeping up with it all and run a business to boot. IMHO lots of new store operators just didn't get into "books" too deal with that. So they don't. and just accepts whatever the wholesaler/publisher/random trade journal says on a subject.
