- Did I mess up the zero stop again, let's find out! Before going out to stretch the legs on the 6.5 PRC I decided to set the zero stop...good thing I checked zero before going because I screwed it up bad. Now I am trying to set the zero stop again, so, did I mess up the zero stop again

I am thoroughly enjoying your series Sir . 👍
Thank you so much Gordon...I really appreciate it and you watching!
Thanks and sorry I missed the Premier. Working hard on the dove field makes me not being able to get home until late in the evening and exhausted. So no time for videos in the evening. I go straight to the shower, eat dinner and then off to bed. I had a reprieve with rain moving in for the next three days although I hate it is from the storm that hit Houston. Anyway, great video with a lot of good detail as you always provide. The guys next to me at the dove field have been shooting their 1000 yard range every day this week and I mean all day long too. I need to text him to schedule me a day to go out there. It would make for a great video.
I completely understand getting home late, dirty and tired, lol. No worries, you earned a little rest. That storm sure beat the tar out of my old stomping grounds that's for sure. Hopefully it has lost most of its energy before getting to you.
That rifle is definitely worthy of being called a tackdriver.
Thanks Milspec...I appreciate you watching.
Can’t beat that Halfmile very nice group at 59.5gr
59.5 definitely shot lights out. Love it when all three are touching like that.
Now if one could find some Stabil to purchase would be great! I’m just not sold on those Hornady bullets would like to see you test some Bergers in the 6.5 PRC.
I have been looking for some Bergers...haven't found any yet. Try Powder Valley, they had some StaBall last I checked.
👍Halfmile! Thanks for the attention to detail !
My pleasure! I appreciate you hanging out in the chat during the premier, it is always nice to shoot the bull with all y'all.
ES under 20 is fine. Shoot the charge/velocity that gives the best group with an ES under 20, not the best SD. I see too many people on the internet chasing SD's and not group size. Good video!
I agree, but it is pretty neat when you can get close to your target velocity, with a super low ES and SD plus a good group. But all in all I am happy with my ES being less than 20. Thanks for watching, I really do appreciate it.
Halfmile I just Love your table as you know. Sorry Just had to say it again.
Glad you enjoy it! It is ranges like this where that table really shines.
Very nice! Was a little surprised at that elevation & temperature that fps didn't change more. Last group was excellent. You eating Bighorn backstrap tonight 🐏? 😂
Getting about 25 FPS difference between 41 feet and 4000 feet was pretty neat, even better when the difference also include about a 60 degree temp change too. It would have been so cool to get some big horn on camera...you definitely don't want to get one of these, even on accident, they are some kind of protected. They come down out of the hills and all shooting has to stop until they choose to wander off, lol.
@@HalfmilesniperI can just imagine the questioning if something happen to one especially if it involved lead & a high cap magazine. 😂 Might have to use a big sombrero on top of a tripod to cool that barrel or battery down in that heat. Leave your XD on the table in that sun about 10mns & then pick it up. 🔥 I did it only once at 92 degrees. Ouch!
@@billdye3530 That big green desert bush will be an important part of the next video...it will provide some much needed shade for the camera...but no more spoilers!
I do not miss those hills lol. Was stationed in 29 Palms for 4 years. It makes my agent orange act up looking at them.. XD Nice group on the 59.5. What's your target velocity that you're looking to achieve? Great series brother. Has been awesome watching you do the load developments with some at the beginning being slow and not that great and working into higher velocities and getting excellent accuracy. Keep up the good work.
I would like to see 2900 to 2950, but 2850 is workable. I appreciate the kind words...this has been a fun video series to shoot and video...Thanks!
Looks like the gun range near boulder city NV
Desert ranges all kind of look the same...sandy and hot, lol. This one is a few miles south of Indio, CA. Thanks for watching, I really do appreciate it.
What's up halfmile
hey there Anthony....thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for letting us hang. Oh yeah... my sweet tea is frosting my glass.
Either yyour tea is a tad too cold or the humidity is a tad too high, lol. I appreciate you watching james...Thanks!
Halfmile I know what 100 degrees feels like. in that kind of temperature metal will burn my hands, So how do you know when the barrel is cool? I am asking due to the fact I am going shooting in the Central Valley, which as you know is also in the 100s.
Hey Sindee, when the barrek is hot from the radiant heat or direct sun it feel different than when it is heated from shooting. What you can do is feel the barrel before you start shooting, it'll be warm, then feel again after shooting a string or group. You should be able to feel that difference. Basically, the pre shooting temp becomes you new "baseline"...you'll feel the difference.
Edit to Add....I sometime use a hand held laser thermometer...that way you don't burn your hands Sindee...I kind of missed that last night.
59.5 👍
Yep, 59.5 sure did look good....looked way smaller than it measured out too.
@@Halfmilesniper👍👍👍
At 13:00 i seen movement over your left shoulder
Directly over my shoulder, right at the top of the berm you can just see the flag waving in the wind.
That was a flag at 13:00
Hey Halfmile
Morning Randle
Just catching this today. I hate to ask a stupid question but what is extreme spread and standard deviation?
No stupid questions. extreme Spread is the velocity High and Low of the shot group.
@@Halfmilesniper thank you. I hear everyone talk about it but didn't know what it was.
