Speedybee ESC Failure!?!? || Testing New QAV-S JB Edition V2 Frame

- Had some issues recently with one of my quads falling out of the air, so I decided its time to rebuild it. Also wanted to try Joshua Bardwells V2 frame. So did a quick rebuild and frame swap, Then a test flight for both.

I too have a Skyliner frame that I put a speedybee stack in after the original t motor stack failed. At first I had the XT wires coming out the side….what a pain.. today I was able to route the wires out the back over my walksnail hd V1 VTX.. Yes it’s super tight. Have you tried any of the quadmulla frames ? If they ever come back in stock 😀. You are doing a great job, apparently companies are noticing. Keep going as Bacon Ninja has disappeared 🤷🏼

I have 2 v3 stacks that are still going strong, even after drowning one . The v3 FC on the other hand didnt survive. I put mamba FC on the V3 esc and is doing good still. Im slowly moving to skystars now though
Yeah I have a few v3s and they have never had an issue. I think I may have had a bad unit.
I got a v3, out of the box one motor esc was bad. Thier flight controllers are great, but esc, is like rolling dice.
I had similar issue with a smaller drone.. occasionally desync like yours (about 1 every 10 packs). I had incorrect d-shot - motor poles setting. Make sure that setting matches the number of magnets in your motor.

I've read/heard that the V3 did had some problems. Some people even popped the ESC. From what the problems was, Speedybee should have solved the issues with the V4. I'm sitting with a fresh built Master 5 V2 too, just waiting for my own V4 to arrive :)

I had a similar problem with my v3 but it was from the gyro going bad
Do some black box logs and it'll tell you what's happening
Try upping your idle a bit, and antigravity gain, also make sure air mode is enabled. Those things should help your quads handle a bit better, with more authority in the air, and hopefully less wiggle.

Shorter XT60 Lead and you can zip tie it to the front standoff :)
I guess blackbox logs would suggest some issues. You could see because it could be something else.

dang...I though you were going to have a solution for the "desync" issues. I have been dealing with it in multiple quads and think its radio related cause its more than one showing symptoms. Even on brand new builds. I don't know how to use BB logs to solve anything along those lines
Yeah sorry I tried all the normal fixes, sometimes you just have bad hardware. 🤷♂️
Have u tried using the right presets for hr radio?
@@tootfpv Yeh and it seemed to work for a few days then starts again. Build a brand new quad...flies like butter for 4-5 packs then starts making ticking sounds, then starts twitching. This has happened on multiple quads. Emailed jb and uav tech over 10 days ago and nothing. Most recent thing I tried was removing pre-arm from the same 3 way switch i had turtle on. Quads flew great a few days and now back to motor noise, ticking and twitching. its extremely frustrating and hard to find info. thanks for your help!

@@tootfpv I use a mambo with tracer on most of my quads. I have a tango 2 but no tracer module. I’ll look into it more. Thnx!
My speedybee f405 mini esc is doa. #1 esc is not working. I just installed today and figured it out. I have not emailed them yet
Dang sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get a replacement from either speedybee or the vendor you purchased from.
Hey. Considering Walksnail. Have you had a good experience compared to DJI?
Walksnail is ok. But if you want the best video system DJI is the way to go.

@@andrewmedia3568 is there any known issues with Bluejay and f405 v3 50amp stacks? I've gone through 5 in 2 different quads and esc's keep either blowing up, or "missing esc" only factor that is the same is I always flash bluejay, cause......... it's better. But could that be causing my issues.??
@@djhex I don't think so because I only flashed blue after having the desync issue. I flashed bluejay to try and fix my problems and I have other quads with the same setup and friends running the same thing with no problems. 🤷♂
@andrewmedia3568 I've actually got a Master 5 with the exact same set up, v3 50amp, bluejay flashed, it's going on 8 months no issues. So I'm truly baffled. I can honestly say, I think speedybee have failed product and put it on Amazon. I have no other reason why this is happening. I'm talkin brand new, cleannnnnn builds. 1 being the Mario 5. The esc thankfully wasn't a blow out on that drone or I'd be super pissed... fact of the matter is, I'm blowing esc's up, and know one can help me figure out why. Have to take the build factor out as I've put this across pro builders/pilots faces and they agree on the clean build. Because my Master 5 flies so good, I've done carbon copies of it, just for shits n giggles, and flew nice for a few flights and then either boom! Or "missing esc" I'm frustrated.
@@djhex I feel you, I was very frustrated with my master 5. Never had this issue before. I swapped to the V4 stack and different motors and haven't had a problem since. maybe QC issues with there V3 stacks. Ive never blown an ESC, I would assume too much amps is the main reason an ESC would blow. Maybe try the V4 stacks or a different manufacturer. I know the V3 is such a good price but only if it works properly. Whats the exact set up you use? motor size, kv, battery voltage and battery size? GoPro??
What pid tuning you use on speedybee master 5 v2?
The Supafly 5" Freestyle preset. Its what I use on almost all my builds. He has options for with or without a gopro and with or without Bi directional Dshot.

Man..just change the china capasitor to panasonic capasitor its will be ok...
If only it were that easy. All these stacks come from china and lots come with a cap specifically for the boards.
Speedy bee stacks suck ive broken 3 of them
I've totalled 8 v3 stacks. 2 my fault, the rest...... esc failures. Garbage GARBAGE esc's on the v3 stacks mannnnnn
@djhex v4s to I did a very light turtle mode and it blew the esc
@aarondodson1261 you blew a v4 60amp?? Urgh that's serious bad news as I wanted to put this stack in my 7" build I'm slowly building :(
@djhex 55 Amp but ya and I've had multiple 5 volt regulators blow on the flight controllers too
