Watch part 1 here: • The Origin of the Isra...
This video is the story of the origin of the conflict between Israel and Palestine that we see to this day. We cannot understand the war between Israel and Palestine, nor how Hamas came to be, without understanding the origin of Israel itself.
We will discuss Plan Dalet, Operation Nachschon, and how it lead to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, often referred to as "Nakba", in 1948 and 1948. This is crucial to understand the ongoing conflict in Gaza today!

For the people claiming that this video is biased:
1: this video is not based on a single source. You can check the description
2: Two of the sources are by isreali historians.
Calling Ilan Pepe, the most anti Zionist anti Israeli “historian” an Israeli historian as a pretext for an unbiased view is worse than not using them at all. The narrative presented here is extremely biased and one sided
Yeah that’s not exactly correct. One major example is Ilan Pape that earned the unfortunate nickname of “the Israeli lord haw haw”. Whose book is unfortunately riddled with errors and lacking historical context. Now I don’t want to go rambling on about the politics of Israeli historians as it’s annoying and there are people far more knowledgeable about that subject than me. But what I can tell you for sure is that every single source mentioned is written from the Palestinian narrative, so you’re not seeing the full picture, only half of it.

This doesn’t acknowledge that “Palestinian” included EVERYBODY who lived under the mandate (including Jews) until 1964.
Why does it matter? It’s not about race, it’s about the fact that one side is continuing to commit atrocities and another is trying to exist
They were Palestinians in the sense that they lived in that territory (and the region) of Palestine. When most people refer to Palestinians, including in this video, they refer to the Arab ethno-nationalist group residing primarily in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Israel, Jordan and parts of southern Lebanon and Syria. This distinct ethnicity developed before 1964, contrary to what some say. They often cite Golda Meir in making that argument. But the ADL has acknowledged that is mistaken and they believe she misspoke and actually was referring to the idea of Palestinians arguing for their own independent state.
That land has shifted hands for many years, jews do have a legitimate historical claim to the land. You loose the war territory is lost its been that way like forever.. am sure if the Arabs would have won the war with Israel 💯 there would be no jews and Israel would not exist

This whole conflict is basically. "He hit me, so I hit him back" over and over and over. I REALLY hope we can live here like human beings and break the cycle.
Its impossible tho. Slightly possible but mostly impossible.
Each side has a want. And theyre not stopping until they get what they want. And if one side gets their want then the other side doesnt get their want. So its an endless cycle.
yeah. refugees come in, u welcome them. They rob you, you retaliate, some other person defends the robber, and so on.
And also, thank you for showing your lack of depth, referencing only Ilan Peppe!
Was Benni Morris too neutral for you to quote?
It's very simple
European jews wanted to colonize palestina.
According to zionist historian Benny Morris, zionists chose to accept the 1937 partition plan, so they could eventually takeover all of Palestine
UN guy casually ignoring that the lands he gave arabs were cities primarily populated by the arabs "70% of the land", while the areas granted to israel had much higher jewish concentrations of population. Disingenuous to assume "70% of the land should go to the 70% of the citizens", thereby forcing a population swap based off of the numbers, and not where people were actually located in that moment.
It wasn't just to "make up for the guilt of the Holocaust". Although that was definitely part of it, that's very simplistic.
It had something to also do with actual concentrations of citizens by ethnicity in the British territory in that moment.
Didn't the UN put major urban centers and territories with majority Arab population as part of Israel in their partition? I'd see that as a dishonest partition.
Bruh there were literally 1 mil arabs in the Jewish zone 💀
"Although that was definitely part of it, that's very simplistic."
I mean...the title of the video literally says "(Simplified)".
i mean there were still about 800,000 Palestinians in the land, but a partition city-by-city was too much work for the UN ig
A lot of the land that was given to Israel was desert. The whole southern half of the region is essentially an uninhabited desert. This is just another common pro Palestinian talking point.

I think it’s fair to describe this series as a “pro Palestinian” or at least “sympathetic Palestinian” sort of revisionist perspective. There’s much to learn here and this is well laid out but this is a very biased one-sided perspective lacking in context or balance. The sources used are extremely biased and entirely from a pro Palestinian perspective. I did enjoy the videos and learned something but also realize this is one-sided and the Jewish perspective is entirely missing from these videoes. I find this channel tends to want to provide the under-dog perspective on history which is helpful but often out of context and overly sympathetic while leaving out the negatives of that side
Most of the sources he stated are from Zionist diaries and books how is it one sided ?
@@averagenoob8867Illan Pappe is just one source.
What is left out, tell me
No it's just that Palestine don't have a side but rather just want the basic right that a human shouldn't be missing because someone elses profit , Palestine isn't a political stance but a common sense humanitarian stance which would be astonishingly simple when you consider Palestineians and Arabs in general as equal humans beings that have a right to live in their land like every single other people , it's one sided because one side is for humans who understands basic human rights and have even the bare minimum human conscious and empathy , while all other people who take the other side either know very little about the matter because of the heavily propagandited media (that's the vast majority of zionists supporters) and some people who have no empathy to others , view everyone else as inferior , don't view Arabs and Palestineians as humans but rather as a lesser creatures that's born for the purpose of serving them , using the term "human" to describe those creatures is a violation to the meaning of being a human (talking about people like ben shipro and Jordan Peterson)
Having no stance on the topic is a betrayal to humanity because silence is a form of compliance , not siding with Palestine not even with words makes person no less of a zionist and a gen0cide denier than the person who support the israeli occupation and defends their war crimes and their crimes against humanity , not opposing gen0cide not even with words is indirectly participating in it
yup, there bias is obvious too . they use the unreliable source of illan pappe who ,just for example , in 12:58 attributed a qoute by ezra danin to ben gurion... in the previous episode he said the 1929 pogroms ended up with 200 arabs dead without mentionning most of them died by british police while attacking hebrew civilians .he doesnt mention how the "unarmed arabs" caused from 1936 to 1939 292 security personnel and 400 hebrew deaths, he left out in this video 1947 mamila attack before the haifa oil refinery massacre,he left out the fact the brits enabled the neighboring arab countries to create modern armies while raiding hebrew militas military cahces till 1948(And in the case of jordan-they even had a british general known as jhon bagot), he leaves out the expulsion of hebron gaza and nablus hebrew community in 1929 and silwan and pekiein communities in 1938. he leaves out pogroms across the muslim world against the mizrahi communities from 1903 to 1948,he left out the fact the head of the arab higher committee- haj amin el husseini-was a nazi ss officer and brought here bosnian mujahideen units from his disbanded ss units,he left out fabuary 1948 ben yehuda street bombing and jerusalem post building bombing,he left out deir yassin stopped its neutrality before the attack on it and that 5 hebrew militants died catching the "unarmed" village,he left out all the druze arab villages and abu gush who didnt participate in any violent attack against us were not harmed. why ? because he has an agenda.
i like how you said that the un decided on the israel/palestine borders and gave jews more land because of the horrors of ww2, this is not true at the slightest, the un has sent neutral countries to the area for them to hear out both sides and look at their developments (called unscop), when unscop came to the land, the arabs outright refused to speak with them and say their side of the conflict, therefore unscop only heard the side of the jewish people and saw how developed their settlements were, also at the time unscop came to the israeli settlements they saw british soldiers arresting jewish holocaust survivers and felt bad for them. so, with all that in mind, unscop has decided to give the jews more land.
Fair but the Arabs shouldn't have had to do a partition in the first place it was palestinian territory and had been for around 1900 years at the time.
@@Webber_78Palestine had already been partitioned once into Jordan
@@Webber_78 and before that it was Judea and before that it was the philistines (not Palestine) see people (not you) I mean counties like to go back in time such as the USA why don't we go back to this old border such as in the Ukraine conflict. we can go way back such as Ukraine before it was the Ussr before that Russian Empire for a long time then before that polish Lithuania (split) then ottomans too and then Kiev Rus. (this is just an example) But for Palestine they aren't really a wanted people Jordan and Egypt should do something about their oversighted areas but no when Palestinians came to Jordan they tried to revolt when they went to Lebanon they as well did the same this is why no nation wants to have their people come over too organized and instead aids their people in an endless bloody war and for what? power both sides have blood on their hands.
(This was way too long of a comment)
@@FoxFighterKnox the point is the modern day Palestinians are descendants of those who lived in the land prior to the establishment of the Jewish kingdoms and their Arabness comes from a ethnolinguistic identity that was only pushed onto to them later on. So would consider the Palestinians who lived in this land more native than the strange European Jewish mixture of people claiming to be the rightful inheritors of Palestinian land. Not to mention saying that the Palestinians are a unwanted people to justify some weird agenda is the same justification the Nazis used for the jews under the guise of the Final Solution. I agree that both sides have blood on their hands as to be expected of a brutal occupation that has spanned over the majority of century, but how does the justify the sheer and terrific atrocities of the Zionists , who's atrocities were paid for and funded by the Global West. And how do you compare that to the considerably less crimes the Palestinians have committed towards the Zionists? At the end of the day there is innocent Palestinian dying this very minute due to crimes they didn't commit while the world watches on, how is this morally justified even with all the history and claims on the land aside? do you feel in your heart that the little girl who saw her parents and her siblings die in front just for her to later be obliterated by a airstrike is at least a little bit immoral? Why do we justify the death innocent when it comes to the Palestinians and the Muslims but when others are treated the same the World intervenes? "Few political forces are as powerful as lost glory and the Arab world has lots of that". There will be a revolution an awakening my friend.
@@Webber_78Arabs wouldn't have been kicked out of Jewish land, and it was never it's own country, just territory.
Saying arabs shouldn't even consider the other side is what got them to their state, they don't really get to complain that Jews should be part of their country when they were oppressing the Jews in the area for so long.
The petition was spread by means of population concentration and with consideration for the expected growth in Jewish population once the arab countries ethnically cleanesed their own Jews like they said they would.

I’d personally love to see a semi-sequel semi-continuation semi-moreindepthlook of your German Revolution videos looking at the last year or two of the Weimar Republic.
More specifically, the period from January 1933-August 1934 where the Weimar Republic still sort of existed and possibly could have been saved, everything after Hitler became chancellor in January 1933 to Summer of 1934 when the last remaining checks collapsed. There's sort of 5 distinct phases to it, the January-March period where everything was more or less the same it had been under prior degree governments(Hitler was chancellor, Hindenburg ruled by decree, same old), the March-July period where the Reichstag fire and Enabling act gutted what little protections existed and democracy ended (March was the communists and vocal extremists, by July even the moderate conservative parties or other right wing nationalist parties were banned), the August 33-January 34 period where the main players were all generally happy with the direction things were going(Von Papen, Hidenburg, Schleicher, and of course Hilter himself), the period from February 1934-June 1934 where Papen and Hindenburg realized things had gotten out of control and started trying to reign him in, and the final two months where the Weimar Republic went from being gutted to completely destroyed.
Those final few months were utterly chaotic. It was discovered in May Hindenburg was dying. Von Papen's marburg speech intended to reign in Hitler in June failed and lead to him losing his job. The Night of the Long Knives in July killed most of the remaining dangerous opposition, including Kurt Schleicher one of the few remaining moderates with any influence, and most of Von Papen's staff including his right hand leaving him powerless. It also wiped out the SA, the threat of which had been the main thing the Moderate faction was using to weaken Hilter(talking about the violent street thugs causing trouble to the citizens and scaring the army into thinking they were losing their jobs), now suddenly the people viewed the NSDAP as protecting them from the street violence and the Army was suddenly swinging to their side. Then finally in August Hindenburg(the only person with any power outside of the party at this point and the only guy with enough credit to keep the army on their side) died, the positions of Chancellor and President were merged destroying any hope of ousting Hilter, and Von Papen was exiled to Austria under threat of death.
Some say if Hindenburg had lived a little longer and stayed a little sharper, or if the Night of the Long Knives had failed and Röhm was able to cause significant internal issues in the NSDAP, or if Papen hadn't given Goeballs full control of Prussia's police force(thus gutting his own power base and giving the NSDAP full reign over the largest province) they MIGHT just have been able to claw back control.
If you really wanted to you could extend it to August 1932-August 1934. (August 1st 1932 was the first date the NSDAP had the majority seats, that's a sort of power even if they were refused chancellor ship. Goring was also made Leader of the Reichstag as a compromise which was one of the highest positions in the government in August 1932), as long as the latter period isn't neglected.
Oh and during the January 1933 onward period they actually changed the national flag to the old imperial tricolor one, it was only changed to the infamous red one after Hindenburg died

Historical background: Jews began purchasing land here when this was still the Ottoman Empire. At that time there was no cohesive Palestinian identity, but Arab nationalism began to emerge (as a response to the Young Turk movement), and they did object to the Turkish government about Jewish land purchase. But the government didn’t do much.
When the Ottoman Empire broke up, the League of Nations decided what to do with the territory, and in the interim the British were given a mandate for control of the region that is Israel today. When the Mandate ended, the UN proposed to partition the land between the Jews and Arabs who lived here. The Jews agreed, even though the proposal involved a small strip along the coast and a lot of valueless arid desert.
The Arabs refused, and launched a war. They lost. Many Palestinians fled or were thrown out, and their land was taken over by the new Jewish state. The Palestinians who remained are Israeli citizens today, they make up one fifth of the population, they had a party in the previous governing coalition, and are better off than any of their fellows in the region.
In 1967 Jordan, Egypt and Syria went to war with Israel and after six days of fighting they lost. Israel then eventually made peace with some of them. Each time we made peace with one of the countries from which we took it, we returned the land, or offered to: Egypt took back the Sinai but did not take Gaza, and Jordan did not take the West Bank. There were negotiations with Syria (between Barak and Assad Sr.) and if we had made peace we’d have given back the Golan but the negotiations failed and we are still in a state of war with Syria.
The West Bank at that time was full of Palestinians who had fled in 1948 and lived in “refugee camps” which became towns (slums, mostly). Anarchy reigned, there were gangs, and people were afraid to send their kids to school from what I read. Then in 1993 Israel signed the Oslo Accords with the Palestinians, and the West Bank was divided into areas under Palestinian control (A and B) and an area under Israeli control (C), and a Palestinian government authority was established, the Palestinian Authority (PA) with a police. The PA police instituted law and order, and the PA began to build a civil infrastructure, mainly facilitated by Salam Fayyad, a very capable Finance Minister and then Prime Minister. But the PA was corrupt and Fayyad eventually got sick of that and quit.
Meantime there was a militant Islamist faction among the Palestinians, Hamas.
Israel had established some settlements on the West Bank (and also in Gaza), and after the Israeli PM was murdered and a right wing government came to power the settlements were increased and entrenched, so that today there are nearly half a million Jews living there in Area C.
In 2005 PM Ariel Sharon decided to withdraw all Israelis from Gaza, dismantle the settlements, pull out the army, and leave it to be controlled by the Palestinians. He explicitly declared that this was in order to preclude any similar pullout on the West Bank. After the withdrawal there were elections, and people voted for Hamas as the majority party in what was supposed to be a unity government. For various reasons Hamas and the PA couldn’t come to agreement (Israel also had a contribution to that), and in 2007 Hamas seized total power in a coup, and have been ruling with an iron hand ever since, and using all their resources to attack Israel ever since. As a result Gaza is on the border of humanitarian disaster, with 50% unemployment.
Hamas is also gaining power on the West Bank, as the PA weakens.
Israel keeps tight watch on the borders, but every time the attacks subside, they are loosened. The past few years they have been more open than any time since Hamas took over, with goods flowing through (even dual purpose materials) and thousands of Gazans coming into Israel to work every day. The conception was that Hamas cared about the economy and the welfare of the people and wouldn’t attack. This proved on October 7th to be incorrect.
The only reason isreal didn't try to settle in Gaza was because of Gaza armed resistance . even today Palestinian from west bank are being expelled.
Finally part 2

Yes, maybe if this video was pro-western then some people wouldn't be complaining, but some people still would, and much more people (including YOU) who aren't complaining on this video would be complaining.

Moral: Never let the british or the un make borders
this is fr about to become your alternative dose of simple history if his upload schedule remains like this
Will there be a part three
What an ending
Menachem Begin
• Irgun Leader: Led the Irgun, a paramilitary group.
• King David Hotel Bombing: Responsible for the bombing that killed 91 people.
• Nobel Peace Prize: Despite his violent past, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for signing the peace treaty with Egypt.
Yitzhak Shamir
• Lehi Leader: Led the Lehi, another paramilitary group.
• Attempt to Contact Nazis: The organization controversially tried to contact Nazi Germany for support against the British.
• Prime Minister: Later became the seventh Prime Minister of Israel, despite the controversial actions of Lehi.

I hope ypu know what you did will probebly make a number of people more informed and clear some misconceptions and in doing so there will be more talks abput palestine and so many lives would be better.
You did an amazing job on this one
So, you basically animated Ilan Peppe’s pro Palestinian book
Well thats the truth. Its the real history on al-nakba.
When zionist history is fillied with horror, ofc by defult any historian and resource used as accurate as it get, the more chaios it will show and people will call it more biased.
Escaping from hitler only to become hitlers
There is only one thing you miss that during nakba there was a truce for a month with a American meditation in this truce no can buy weapons but Israel buy weapons from USA during this truce

@@user-bs9hm6gg9i a long paragraph!?!?
@@kimberlylewistyner2070 you have all the elaboration you need to see why i say he has an agenda and he is far from accurate.
Just like the first part, its full of inaccuracies, misquotes, and everything possible to push his own bias on this supposedly "educational" video, at the obvious expense of quality and objectiveness.
I have been studying this conflict for a while now, including watching some videos about it to compare perspectives from all sides and study and understand how videos push a narrative or a bias, and I usually don't mind.
BUT what really infuriates me about this one particularly is that its aimed at people who are just beginning to understand this complex conflict (that usually takes actual effort to understanding it properly without being biased to any side) and preserving it as an educational "Oversimplified" style video, and the people watching this and learning about the conflict for the first time dont know that you are decieving them into a narrative.
Your use of outdated philosophies and concepts, that for an unbiased person who knows more than surface level will immediately flag it as a biased video, will fly right over the heads of people newer to this conflict.
You are allowed to push your narrative, but to disguise it as education is just evil.
What are some of those inaccuracies and misquotes?

You keep calling the Arabs "Palestinians". This is not historically accurate. They didnt take on the mantle of "Palestinians" until their defeat in the 1967 "6-Day War". Before that, they were just "Arabs".
Also, the land was never Arabian land. It was Ottoman before the Brits. The Ottomans gave the Jews permission to purchase and move into that land, which was barren and mostly unoccupied. To act like it was "stolen" is an inaccurate retelling.
He already noted this in part 1.
He just calls them Palestinian arabs for easier understanding.
Theyre still arabs in the now called palestinian land
The jews only bought less than 10% of the land. That isnt worth the 60% they got in the partition which enraged the Arab population living in the now called Palestine area.
@@tophat.commenter
Jews and Arabs owned about 7~8% each. Half of what the Jews got was the Negev Desert, the other half was the Coastline and the North. While the Coastline can be controversial as there were many Arabs and Jews there but the North Israel got was swamps in the past until the Jews developed them.
Also - in the UN borders Jews were the majority in Israel.

That's because this video essentially animates Ilan Pappes anti-Israel book. Many of the things he wrote have been disproven. While Israel did commit some horrible tragedies, we must remember that they were written by someone with a clear bias against Israel. Additionally, the video overlooks the many atrocities that Israel has suffered, which he obviously did not write about.
Well I think partition was done justly as most arable and livable land was given to Palestine and the majority of Israel land along the Egypt border is desert and not many people live there

The war that happened between the newly created Israel and all the arab countries israel had less soldiers then them and we didnt get soviet aid we got weapons and planes from czechoslovakia it was part of the eastern block but not the soviet union also the rulling party with the labour party whice is social democrat and in the decleration of independence there is a call for cooperation between jews and Arabs

The start-screen is a bit misleading. It shows "Palestinians" leaving Israel. It does not show the hundreds of thousands of Jews that left Jordan. Jordan which was created, exactly like Isreal, on Palestine. Only that Jordan is a muslim country and Israel is a jewish country. And that Jordan expelled all Jews and Israel asked for all Muslims to stay. I put Palestinians in quotation marks because until 1964 Jews were called Palestinians as well and so were Christians. It was Arafat in 1964 who started the campaign of calling only Muslims in Gaza "Palestinians" to create the impression among people that Israelis or Jews are no Palestinians. The whole name "Palestine" would not exist, were it not for the Jews and their Bar Kochba uprising against the Romans. "Palestine" is literally the replacement term for "Israel". At that time the ancestors of the Gazans were not even in the country.
It is a rather cheap trick to say "... (Simplified)" and then publish a biased video.
