- Chris Lee '13 is nonstop. In our latest short film, we highlight the amazing life story of this young McCallie alumnus who is smashing expectations as he plays the dual roles of Lafayette and Jefferson in the Chicago production of "Hamilton: An American Musical."

Been a fan of this young man ever since I saw him on Legacies. He just had this electric smooth atmosphere around him. I have no doubt this young man's future is a bright one and that God will continue to use and elevate him!
I saw him in Hamilton in Chicago and he was electric. I hope he gets more and more recognition for his talents.
I came across his incredible acting and mesmerizing voice on Legacies. And I was interested in seeing some more of his singing so I looked him 15 minutes. And now I’m learning that had I had the opportunity to go to see Hamilton in Chicago I would’ve been able to witness even more of his angelic voice. I love this story of his and he truly seems like a kind-spirited person
I drove to Chicago to see Hamilton. I haven't seen the original play. I absolutely LOVED the way you portrayed Lafayette (meh, and Jefferson) but to me, you ARE Lafayette. Awesome job. Keep going, because I'd love to see you perform elsewhere.

I saw this show in Chicago when I went there for thanksgiving and he was amazing he could actually rap like Daveed which I was scared about I really liked him he was definitely my favorite character/actor in it

Having watched the original cast now (on Disney+), I have to say, Chris was the better Jefferson! And that’s saying a lot. 👏👏👏
I recently took my 12 year old son to see Hamilton in Tempe, AZ and Chris was performing. It was superb!! Can't wait to show my son this vid. Dreams do come true!
Saw Chris in Chicago twice. He was mesmerizing; your eye is just drawn to him. So glad I got the chance to see his performance not once but twice.
He's pretty fabulous in this part. One of the BEST on the Chicago stage!

I was watching Legacies for the first time and I kept thinking who is this guy there's something special about him, (it was confirmed when I got to the talent show episode!)...so I went to look him up...he is definitely talented and seems to truly be living life! Congrats to him and I hope he goes far!!

By far, my favorite actor in the show of Hamilton!! I loved his way of bringing some fun, laughter, and comedy to the show. I saw the show twice in St. Louis and the second time I truly focused on Chris De'Sean Lee (Lafayette/Jefferson) as I enjoyed seeing him perform. Great job! Keep up the awesome job!!

We have been without regular theater in Chicago for a long time (now just starting back up). But I have had CDL’s electric Hamilton performance stuck in my brain since I first saw him as Lafayette/Jefferson a few years ago. I couldn’t remember the name of that young performer who stole all the attention from his more established Hamilton peers, but last night I found the Playbill program from that show which led me to this incredible personal story on Chris’ journey. I was proud of him then and even more so now. Show stopper and show stealer!!!
