    I’ll tell you the Achilles heel of this product- It’s perpendicular footprint on the gun. I’ve ordered a thousand dollars worth of products from PCP Tunes over the years for my Condor. I have the V1, V2, V3, and the Texan regulators. If they made a 90° male to female high pressure elbow that would allow the plenum to run parallel instead of perpendicular, it would seem less “clunky”, and (IMHO) functionally and aesthetically more pleasing. The plenum will be equally effective pushing the air through a 90° orifice as it currently is. Maybe you could reach out to the guys at PCP tunes and see if they will make one. Tejas is typically very responsive and easy to work with.

    This is FANTASTIC! Really, really good idea. I've been telling people for years: It's all about VOLUME!!
    Have you thought about having them make it more "puck" shaped as not to stick out so far? Not sure that would really be possible due to thread tensile strengths at play, just an idea.

    • @AzAirgunHunter
      @AzAirgunHunter  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching and the complement. I wanted to have one made that way but this one is a FX Plenum where he customized the the back end to thread in to the Airforce valve assembly. I don’t really care for the way it sticks out either but it works great and handles up to 400 bar of pressure. So I’m happy with it. In time the design may change. I don’t know if one can fashioned to resemble a puck. He would have to manufacture it and that my friend is time and money. So I spoke with him and he used what he already had on hand which was the 30cc FX Plenum. Yes! You are correct! It’s all about Volume! Thanks for the input. Hopefully down the line the design will change. As of now mine is the only one manufactured and is the prototype. I’m hoping to get it out in Airgun world for other Airforce Airgun owners see and enjoy.

    Nice review on this but, I just don't see spending extra on an old design or new design air rifle. It may also cause the Air rifle to perform shorter term and not last as long as it should. The best way to do things are invest in a few different caliburs starting with .177 or .22 cal then to 30cal . that way you can cover a wide range of pesting and hunting. This is my experience of 40 + years in air power. I can cover medium range and long range with 3 caliburs. It seems to be a lot of hype stuff going on and mislead people in the air rifle world. If you research thoroughly you can be much more successful! Not knocking what someone wants to do. But use your head about this. Good video, hey, sta slingin that sweet air rifle lead! Again thanks for watching and commenting. The plenum construction is pretty durable. That too was my concern in the beginning but it has tipped over due to my son bumping it and all works well. I have designed an adaptor that will reposition it and align it with the bottle so it doesn’t stick out the way it does. I really don’t like the way looks right now. I have a local machinist that use to help with work on guns but I haven’t gotten a chance to speak with him. Eventually I will get to it. But is a sturdy design and a solid fit. Bumped up my fps by 59 with the same power settings. It puts the condor in a whole ball park of power. It shot the JSB 25.39 grain pellets at over 1000 fps. To be exact 1058 fps and that too was at the lowest possible setting. Thanks for tuning in and for the compliment. I hope to chat with you again soon.

      I would like to start by saying thanks for watching and commenting. But to be honest with you I never made any adjustments or test at a higher setting. The video was a test to see how much power I would gain with the plenum on average. After conducting the test I figured shooting at a higher setting would not matter being that I gained an 60 fps at its lowest setting. Also I felt my shot count would be severely affected if I was to shoot at such a high setting. But I will share with you that with the lowest setting it shoots the 25.39 hr JSB pellets 1025 fps, which is way too fast for a pellet and as I mentioned earlier I don’t think extra air usage is really worth it. So sorry I don’t have those numbers for you. But if I do run a test as such I will refer back to you in this comment. Again thanks for watching.

    • @AzAirgunHunter
      @AzAirgunHunter  Před měsícem

      Thank you for the insight. This video was made simply to show an increase in velocity when using the plenum, not shot count. The volume of air used from shot to shot is enormous and lowered my shot count. The reason I did this was to show the increase in velocity when using the plenum. My plan was to shot slugs. However, I have learned that my gun/air rifle doesn’t yield the accuracy I want in shooting slugs. I am assuming my chocked barrel is not very slug friendly. I have learned that the JSB 25.39 gr pellets yields the best results for me so I no longer use the plenum. The plenum is a great asset if you are looking for more power. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy hunting.

    • @AzAirgunHunter
      @AzAirgunHunter  Před rokem +1

      If you change the plenum to use an extra 72cc’s of air behind your valve it will increase the velocity of your projectile more than the 30cc plenum will. The 72cc’s of air will be released behind your air valve in conjunction to the air released from your air bottle. So the more air flow you get down your barrel the greater the velocity of the projectile. The air released from your bottle should not be affected or changed as it depends on bottle air volume, valve size and hammer strike. The plenum just stores extra air from your bottle that is also released when fired. Just ensure you have a sturdy bridge breech to handle the extra air pressure. I am not sure of the max pressure the standard bridge breech can handle but just a word of caution for personal safety. I do have a more durable delrin bridge breech but I still use the standard bridge breech because it offers a smoother and better fit than the aftermarket bridge breech. Also understand that the report of the rifle will be louder and use more air than normal which will yield a lower shot count. I hope this answers your question. Again, thanks for commenting and watching.

    Does the gun need to be regulated in order to use this ?

    • @AzAirgunHunter
      @AzAirgunHunter  Před rokem +2

      Let me start by saying thanks for watching. To answer your question, I have not tried or tested the plenum without the regulator affixed. The function of the plenum is to add an additional 30cc of air behind the valve when struck by the hammer. In other words the plenum is designed to store extra air so I’m pretty sure it will still give you boost in velocity. The 30cc’s of air should work in conjunction with the air being released from your bottle. Your hammer setting and bottle pressure will determine how much air is released from your bottle and the air in the plenum will be released with it. The air in the plenum is released behind the valve not from the bottle. However, it is filled from the bottles. Again, I am not 100% sure but this is the way the plenum was designed. If you need further clarification please contact Paul at sales@pcptunes.com. I’m sure he could provide a little detail for you. Give him about 24 hours to respond please. • @AzAirgunHunter
      @AzAirgunHunter  Před rokem

      Hello and thanks for watching. I can not say 100% that it will work on .50, but if it’s the same AirForce Airgun valve threads I’m pretty sure it will. All ot does is stores an extra 30cc’s and releases it when the hammer strikes the valve. So it works in tandem with your air valve. It just needs to screw in to the valve gauge port.

    • @nemesis885
      @nemesis885 Před rokem +1

      @@AzAirgunHunter I'd personally be interested in a test of that the threads will be the same it's the power I'm looking at in regards to extreme lrm ability and how well the valve holds up in a 3 to 4 month test it seems like a reasonable product but things like that could potentially severely damage the weapon is this something you are willing to test??? If so and you can show something real on numbers of deviation on crony plus the wear on the valve and reg I personally will buy but at this point there's not a hole lot you have on it except the power on a .25 but airforce makes many calibers plus the regs and valves

    • @AzAirgunHunter
      @AzAirgunHunter  Před rokem

      I understand your concern of wear and tear on the gun over a period of time. I too had the same concern of valve damage. This is why I only conducted the test at the lowest possible setting plus it gave me a good reading of the difference in power with and without the plenum. As far as wear and tear goes me myself am more concerned about the 95gr heavy hammer I have installed rather than the extra air from the plenum. The hammer slams into the valve harder than the standard valve while the plenum only store an extra 30cc of air that is release when the valve is opened. So I personally don’t see a problem with wear and tear from the use of the plenum. The air from the plenum is released in conjunction with air from the air bottle giving you a larger volume of air release which I have seen has no effect on the valve itself. I don’t own a .50 so I can’t give you info or data regarding the .50 but I can tell that I have spoke with the manufacturer of the product and when I shared my thoughts with him of possible rifle damage he informed me that the product should cause no damage to the gun itself but it is the heavy hammers and springs that can cause damage over time due to the heavy or hard slam in to the valve. The extra air release should cause no damage. I have two custom valves for my rifle that handle the plenum very well. As far as deviation and other numbers they are in the video but only for the .25 Cal which is the gun I own and conducted the test with. I only use plenum when shooting pigeons from time to time. I don’t use it as a standard everyday shooting addition for my gun. I shoot more dove out to 60 yards and the plenum puts out too much energy for dove. I shoot dove with .25.39 gr JSB pellets at 887 fps which gives me great accuracy and energy for dove but the pigeon are little tougher to kill so I use the plenum and heavy slugs 36.2 hr slugs. If you are looking to use it for everyday shooting on your .50 I believe you would be ok. As I mentioned earlier it’s the heavy springs and hammers that can cause valve damage. I only have the heavy hammer, my spring is the standard AF hammer spring. I have been shooting this way for over a year with no problems. The extra air should cause no damage. It works fine for me without damaging anything. Almost forgot. My bridge breech is also a more durable delrin breech because that was a concern for me. I pay close attention to me breech because this is a part I don’t want blowing in my face. With that said I hope this helps. Sorry I don’t have any further data for you. I don’t work directly with manufacture, he is located outside of India but we do talk via cell and email.
