he's the coolest delta blues youtuber ive ever seen man he rocks
Damn right!
"That's tuned enough." ~every banjo player, ever. 🤣
Ay man it ain't that bad
The closeness of a small circle around a fire all playing equally quiet., nothing better than silence.
Man your the real deal Thank you Edward
Damn that parlor guitar is nice.
In all honesty, Edward, you would sound brilliant on any instrument, regardless of age or quality. I do agree with you that the old instruments give you that great vintage blues sound. Thanks for an interesting and informative video.
I have an old german parlor guitar from approx 1880 to 1900, and a Swedish banjolin from 1919
Great stuff! love the content. I have a 80 plus year old SS Stewart archtop it has some issues but I love it!
It's always an odd experience for me hearing Crossroad Blues. I'm old enough that my grandfather told me stories about making deals at the crossroad long before I'd ever heard of the blues.
I'll tell you this. That guitar is enchanted with....blues.
Your piano reminded me of my Nans piano, but my Dad pushed drawing pins ( I think you call them thumb tacks?) into the felt hammers and that piano would ring like a bell. ( I am 72 years old ) so going back a bit.
This is awesome, man! Quality, and interesting, content like this is all too rare. Thanks!
When “Pre-War” refers to the FIRST World War........
I was thinking more like Civil War. Because parlor guitars and banjos took a engineering leap shortly after in the early 1870's
Nice vibes in your playing man
1:31 I love this one and Crossroads played on it. But it doesn't have a trussrod...so intonation and sustainability... tough issues.
This is so awesome!
Edward! You continually reveal more and more of your abilities. Love to watch you play and learn from you.
This channel is such a gem. I listen to Edward's covers all the time.
Cheers from Sweden. Great playing.
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos!

GREAT VIDEO. GREAT TALENT!
Great video mate , do you reckon you’ll do a video more on you personally? Where you’re from , how long you’ve been playing for , where how and when you learnt to play the guitar and the piano too since I know know you play it. Keep it up
...could watch this for hours...
I appreciate your eye ‘n ear for authenticity very much, as well as your unpretentious attitude. ThanX again Edward!
Great video Edward, really enjoy your info and playing brother !!!!

Hi Edward,,love your work,,Floyd from Australia.
Is there an instrument that you CAN'T play?! Another great video!
Haha, was gonna ask the very same question, LOL.
Damn. My mother still owns a Lyon & Healy Baby Grand piano she bought in the late 70’s.
Very nice playin' there!
This is the most beautiful thing I've seen all-day and I work in a supermarket !!!! The instruments are all works of art !!!!
I also have a Lyon & Healey guitar, circa 1920. I also own a 1890s banjo, probably a Dobson. I am not as technically proficient as you on either of them, but I play them them regularly and love their sound. I used to own a couple of 19th Century Austrian guitars built in the Stauffer style, but I let them go and replaced them with a couple quality modern Spanish built Flamenco instruments.
I find, that over all, the modern made quality instruments sound better than the antiques. The exception is the Dobson banjo, which sounds better than any modern banjo I have yet heard, not in volume, but in tone.
You are an excellent musician.
Excellent video Edward, would love to see a couple of songs on the piano once you get it tuned and sorted. Love what you do! All the best from Yorkshire
Those old time instruments are terrific Edward! Thanks for the demos.....👍👍🎸🎸👏👏👍👍
AMAZING !
Love this one
Damn!! This is awesome
I’ve heard a lot of people play Robert Johnson song and, this is one of the best!
Thank you for sharing this video. Some older musical instruments really do sound better to me.
Just awesome
Is there anything you can’t play, awesome collection man
Sir you are a master Thankyou!
Thanks!
I am privileged to own a 1933 Regal parlor guitar but it needs lots of work before it is playable.
What a cool Marquette guitar!
The banjo is a Slingerland. Very rare to have a 5 string from that period, most were tenor.
I treasure the one I own. Mine is missing the face plate too. Cool. Thanks
I don't think I have ever met anyone that is as awesome as you
This guitar almost reminds me of my first guitar. A Hondo acoustic. The only guitar I own that has a nice warm blues sound is my epiphone hummingbird. I have a couple blues pieces with that on my page. Older instruments have that more natural distinct sound.
That old banjo sounded great to me . You hit it off and I went to rockin . Mojoproof ;)
This man can really play!👍👍
The piano playing reminded the sound of Ian Stewart.,good👍👍
Any old harmonicas? That upright is so cool, barrelhouse all day!
Cool shit dude
thanks
Edward, do you think one can play blues on a baroque guitar?

that would be interesting
Nice! I like the dust my broom on the keys.
Good shit
This man is so cool omg
Is that modern acoustic a martin ooox1ae?
Well if I learned anything its that it appears he can play anything. Fiddle next please.
Hey Edward can you learn shady grove by doc watson?
Give me all info if you want, I live Chicago, block down Ogden Ave, is Lyon Healy factory still in business think all they make now is symphony Harps and pianos.
I have a old Martin acoustic guitar. But that's all I know about it. Do you know any way I could find out more? Like maybe numbers or markings or something?
If its made before 1945, you're sitting on a goldmine
@@daltonbrennan8242 a friend of mine told me it could be worth over 4k!
@@paulcook68 that's very plausible. Depending on the condition and year it could be worth tens of thousands
@@daltonbrennan8242 I was thinking of taking it to a university music professor or someone like that to put me in the right direction. I would never sell it anyway but still nice to find out..
If you’ve got a serial number and/or model name, have you considered contacting Martin directly? They may well have a directory hidden away that could give you all the information you could need.
Also there are reddit threads for vintage guitar lovers that might be able to identify it. Best of luck!
Who the hell disliked this ?
Cat skin is more meowsical.
When you were a little bitty baby you road a train load of talent and you soaked it up ?
Haha that's only good for claw hammer
Bro did you sold your soul to devil 😈??
