Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed. Leave any future video ideas you would like to see in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe!
That bronze "vase" is a spittoon, I'm pretty sure.
It definitely is a spittoon lol
I was thinking the same thing
I was about to say the same thing LOL
What is a spittoon? Teehee
Lol...yes, I was gonna say , Drew, WASH THOROUGHLY 😁❤🙏
“I thought he was gonna maybe steal me…” 😂I can’t
You never know!
Roared with laughter as well, and almost woke my family up.... 6:45am here in Aus.
Yes he is so cute!
I know right!! 😂😂
My “Grandma heart” was so proud of him!! His mother raised him right AND he listened to her!! Even as an adult. Besides, he is super cute, he really does need to be careful. ♥️😳
I literally laughed out loud … love Drew so much
I felt this was so relatable because even though you saw nice things and appreciated the beauty of many objects you showed restraint and left in the shelf aknowledging that you don't need it or that you considered the price to be high. It was not the ravaging consumerism of just buying everything because you can that you often see on CZcams.
“I was a little scared at first, like, I thought he was gonna maybe steal me”
A valid concern, Drew. You’re absolutely adorable! ❤️
Oh my word I was laughing so hard watching you run with that huge chair down the road. LOL! What great finds!
It wasn’t that funny tbh
The little baking situation is a cheese spread crock that came filled in the 1970s
Yesss. The vase is actually NOT a vase. It’s a spittoon…..
@@juliuss7665 pp pop on
@@carmenhogans5995 Yes, now that was funny.
When you were carrying the spittoon, I kept saying "NOT a vase...put that down...it's nasty". I have 6 of the vintage wooden chairs you bought at the first stop. Love the bowl. I believe the little (think it's yellow) dish is called "refrigerator dish" without the lid, you can check Etsy. Look forward to your next video.
The vintage wooden chair looks like the classic “lawyer’s “ chair. I too have 4 🙌
This is what I want to see on a interior decor channel. I'm so bored of seeing people go to a big box store buy vintage looking things and decorate with the same thing everyone else buys. This is what decorating is about. I hope interior design youtubers do this more often. There is only a handful that do thrift store decorating.
YES!!!
Those blue chairs at the first place were so cute!
I loved those.
"Not THAT pretty!" I love it! I say the same thing when I'm thrifting or shopping; I'm frugal and critical!
Exactly!!
The fluted glass piece that you're using for polaroids is actually a vintage butter dish. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can find matching lids for them. My mom collects them
Ah so good to know :)
I love to hear the word "vintage", something tickles me inside when i hear it.
I think they came with the refrigerators
Sometimes people call them refrigerator glass, you can find all different colors and shapes. It was really early Tupperware
Called refrigerator glass. Came with lids. That one is a fourth of a layer. They also had ones that were double that size and one that was equal to four of them. You could stack all 7 together. I know they came in clear, pink, Amber and green. My Mother in law collected them for years. Expensive as sets or with lids. She bought the pieces and had a huge box. If them to match together. 💘
I had a vintage shop on Main Street in Santa Monica called TATABA (Tuesdays and Thursdays and by Appointment) and the street cleaners would GIVE me things they found in abandoned apartment units they cleaned. Like a vintage sewing machine, I swear. So great when your spirit inspires others to give you treasures. I immigrated to the UK in 2019 and love your channel. Crack on. 😁🇬🇧👍🏼
Omg, love that vintage black carved floor mirror.
Me too. I’d snatch that!
The "bronse vase" is a spittoon These were kept in bars and some homes when chewing tobacco was popular ,they were emptied once a day
They got popular again in early 80's. Not to use just to decorate. My husband had one in his office for a trash can.
Think it might be copper also, I have a copper plant pot that's gone that colour, worth a polish maybe?
Drew love the items bring something home for me MOM ❤️
Ok!!
And bring me those Mercury glass nightstands 😍😉
@@MorganScheer they are pier one imports and also at home goods.
@@johnmccoy8058 you are my favorite ♥ thank you!
It made me giggle that you chose that wooden chair. Those were dining room chairs that were really in style in the 1970’s and everyone had them. We couldn’t sell them for a nickel when we wanted to get rid of them about 30 yrs. ago.
I didn’t have them! I had Danish modern chairs. Bought two from Sears when we moved to the Midwest from Seattle, where we had cute furnished apartments. Didn’t want furniture, so we bought the bare minimum, bed, couch, pole lamp, 2 chairs (then added more furniture because we had to, eventually.) Thrifted most of it-57 years ago. I still have a desk and a bookcase that were already old in 1964.
They were probably $8 brand new 😆
I'm not sure if I should be laughing or crying that something I used to have is now "vintage"
My brother still uses my moms. I hate those chairs. All over New England, and you’re right people still can’t give them away.
I agree, wouldn't put one of those chairs anywhere!
That's a glazed mexican cup, perfect for hot chocolate. The vintage chair is called a barrel back and were most often seen in taverns. Love the black chair! You totally manifested that.
They also call that a captain's chair, at least in New England.
@@lisamessina5952 my granny had the dining room set for those chairs and she called them captain's chairs too.
The little amber colored square glass piece looks to be the bottom part of a refrigerator glass. Long before Tupperware, used to save leftovers.
Looked like a butter mold to me
It looks like an ashtray to me lol
Yup, it’s a refrigerator container! It’s rare to find it with its lid so I love how he repurposed it!
MaCenna would be proud🥰
That crock you're using to hold kitchen utensils is actually a bean pot once used for baked beans mostly and those always have lids and the pottery used in the originals was very thick and heavy. The one you have appears to be a rather newish reproduction bean pot minus lid. Very nice for the kitchen counter display you did.
That wooden chair you bought is known as a "Captain's Chair." I grew up using them. Most likely made of maple, mid-century. Big fan! Can't wait for your latest home tour! Stay safe!
“..I thought he was gonna maybe steal me.” 🤣🤣 this is hilarious but it’s sad that we naturally think the worst when ppl are randomly too nice sometimes 🙁 cause sameee
It really is!
Same here!! Drew was so cute when he said it though, so I couldn’t help but to laugh. Sadly, this concern is every day for us girls. 😓
@@StephanieGraska facts! Gives me anxiety 🙁
Yep, it's a spitoon. My grandma and my uncle had one when I was a child. You are so fun. You make me smile.
Hey Drew! What great finds! The chairs are awesome. And the frames are amazing too! Can’t wait to see some footage from your vacation in Hawaii! I’m so glad my mother taught me and took me to Good Will and other thrift stores when I was a child. I’ve been shopping there since I was around six and I’m fifty seven now! Back in those days, their stores were not as organized as they are today. You know how they put clothes in order by color? Well back in the day, say you wanted a blue shirt. You would literally have to search all the clothes. My how things have changed. And the people that used to thrift verses now has changed as well. It’s more accepting now. And for that I’m so glad. Have fun and be safe while traveling!! ❤️💜💚
I love your energy Drew! And your humility and love for your family. It really made my day to hear about how you're treating your family to a holiday. Keep being you :)
Video Request: A bohemian living room but bougie/high end
The square dish (with polaroids in it) looks to be a 1950s refrigerator dish. Originally would've had a glass lid .... tupperware & other plastic containers took their place in the market.
My grandmother had a large retangular one with a spout .... she kept Fizzies (like koolaid, but in tablet form) in it - my treat whenever I visited.
Instead of creeps luring kids to their car with candy or puppies it’s people luring Drew to their car with frames 😂
hahahaha literally!!
you gotta change up the bait for whatever you are hunting LOL
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha Omg
😂😂
Was anyone else SCREAMING at the screen for Drew to buy that stone/cement pot??
Yes! For the SUCCULENTS!!
Yes!!! I’m sitting here wondering if it’s still there three months later, but I’m thinking any Lone Fox followers living in L.A. have followed after this video came out to check if things are still in the shops.
I was! And I was thinking "put the stupid captain's chair out on the curb if you need more room.' There were so many great things he could have bought and he picks out USA's most common used kitchen chair that hardly anyone wants. I grew up with that set and while I have happy memories of the times we had, the chairs I could have lived without. "Rock maple.""
@11:20 that looks like one of those vintage refrigerator containers.
back in the day before plastic tupperwear, they were made of glass
Yes, exactly. It used to have a glass lid too. I have a larger one in the same color.
Yes, a spittoon, and I love the blue chairs! And the lamp you like was actually alabaster and not marble.
I love that people are willing to share their knowledge about secondhand items.
I'm obsessed with the black comfy chair and the little green glass picture holder. You definitely should've bought that marble lamp.
The brass “vase” is a vintage spittoon. The golden square glass piece is a vintage anchor hocking refrigerator storage container without the lid.
the glass square dish is actually Federal Amber glassware
At 11:20 the square amber glass piece looks like vintage refrigerator containers that is missing it's glass lid.
Glass piece that’s kind a greenish yellow clear, that was used for storage in A refrigerator, it would’ve had a lid and it would’ve come in the refrigerator
Ahh i love that!
Yes, that is very vintage, probably from the 50's-60's!! I was so hoping you would get it!
@@lonefox I’m pretty sure it’s depression glass from the 30s. My grandmother had things like that.
@@lonefox I think there was one more at 11:42 in another color. Cute.
@@TamarLitvot Yes, I knew them as depression glass too. Vintage.
That marble lamp was really alabaster and was exceptionally nice and also valuable. When you see lamps that have a double light socket like that one did, they're antique and usually valuable. And stone planters of any type make plants look so beautiful.
Loooooove thrifting! Love all your finds but my favorite is the spindle chair! Love wood, all types! I'm in the middle of a major renovation and found you, thank God, to help me with the decor!!🙏 Have replaced floors and floor covering, rebuilt walls, tore out walls, rerouting wiring...but getting so close now, I'm ready to get my mind off construction and onto decor!! The most exciting DIY I'm looking forward to is the large hanging driftwood piece(5 ft. long), over my center sink with rope lights hung at different lengths. I'm getting so many great ideas and color pallets from you and can't thank you enough! I'm on the East Coast but love the versatile pieces you have found and can use anywhere in the world!!
A lone fox video as my birthday present! What a day!
Happy birthday!
Drew: “I was afraid he was gonna steal me!”
.
.
Me: “ I’d steal you Drew” 😬
Love this!! I think there is a bunch of us who might steal him, at least long enough to remodel our homes. ;-)
I love thrifting and have moved to the land of thrift stores here in Sarasota, Florida. I have been told by my children that I have now developed a "lamp addiction".... But, I wanted to say I love your videos. They are so fun and I love your style. It is also SO NICE to see someone who isn't afraid that it will ruin his image as a designer to step into a Goodwill and design so beautifully with his found treasures. You are a breath of fresh air for real people who have to design on a budget! Thank you! :)
I love that you showed us how you styled it all! That was my favorite part for sure
The white crock with blue stripe is a baked bean pot missing it’s top. Fyi
You’ve inspired me to do a thrift day. It’s been a while. I love your positivity and excitement.
His outfits are so stylish and vibey👏🥰
I just love your energy. So glad you’ve been able to travel !!
Thank you so much!!
Thrift stores are so underrate for amazing furniture peices!! You can find absolute one off gems!❤️
This was such a lovely idea for a video 🌼 Definitely need pt. 2! Thrifting decor is my fav thing to do! And that vintage chair is literally a dream! 😍
Drew: Feels like $10 dollar vase is kinda expensive Also Drew: Buys a whole family a trip to Hawaii hahahaha love it!
That pink glass piece is called hobnail glass I think. Popular during the depression. Very beautiful and very collectible. 👍🏼
Hands down one of my favorite channels. So many great ideas and Drew just seems like the most wholesome, humble individual. Keep the great videos coming!!
Your parents must be so proud of you! Thank you for sharing your talent, you make it fun!
It's the first time I follow you. I can't wait to see what else you'll be sharing with us. You have an eye for things. : )
I watch a lot of these thrift haul vids and I have never seen someone use a piece to store/display their polaroids (or any photos) like that. I think that’s such a neat idea and a great alternative to the more casual (and imo, adolescent) option of those wire & string hanging displays. Your photos fit in that glass perfectly and I think it makes such a fun conversation piece when you have company over that can flip through them and you can talk about the pictures- much more approachable than photo albums I think.
The majority of my apartment is thrifted. Before covid, I would hit up local yard sale days, even drive to neighboring cities and towns for their yard sale days, thrift stores and wherever else they sell secondhand stuff. I've even scored so many awesome pieces for free at the end of yard sale day because people just wanted to get rid of whatever they didn't sell. I got my desk for free, a trunk that I turned into a coffee table that doubles as storage! One of my living room sofas was free on the Offer Up app (still can't believe that one!) I upcycle and thrift so much, and frankly I love my apartment even more than I did when I used to buy everything to style it. It has so much personality now, it's so unique and very much me.
Walking in the thrift stores in LA brought back memories. Thank you very much. I enjoyed perusing the shops with you. It was a lot of fun.
The wood chair is a captain's chair.
Yes, and I have seen millions of them. Pretty sure I refinished a couple. They usually are maple wood, which is a great wood, sturdy, he will re-glue it. Then indestructible (unless it gets wet). I like the handle on the back, meant to be moved around.
The captain's chair! Flash back. Being two or three years old, my parents dining table had four of this chairs. Beautiful memory. My mom kept hers just as yours. Wood & always polished.
@@michelewalkerwebb Yes, but these are most often abused. If he fixes it structurally, I.e., glue and clamp, it will last another 100 years. I don't care how many barroom brawls, or gun shots, you cannot kill them.
The gold/green glass rectangular item that you're using for Polaroids, was a "leftover" container, which used to have a glass lid. I am 70 yrs old, and my grandmother used containers like this in the pre-plastic days!
I had a housefire few years ago and lost everything. A few pieces I salvaged, primed and painted black. Now I am more into primitive ! Most of my house now is thrifted, redone and created. I love it
Drew, you should do a video inspired by The Sorry Girls where you flip some of those cute pieces you had to pass-up and sell them for charity!
Have fun in Kauai! I went in 2019 and fell in love with the place. Super chill and laid back island ❤️
Drew, you are such a doll and well loved! Its always nice to experience your joy and general sincere enthusiasm
I love how intentional you are when thrifting, great pieces!
This moment when you got the chair and carried it over the street 😂
Like Christmas and birthday at once 🎁😊
Btw, I love this thumbnail ❤️
In LOVE with the black chair! 😍😍😍
😎FROM AZ...Love your channel, your energy and enthusiasm. FYI Note:
I think that little sq yellowish-gold glass container you show with photos is from a REFRIGERATOR GLASS STORAGE SET from the 1950's/60's (or a mock retro version)...my mom had some in clear glass, and my grandmother had some in a medium green color. If you ever find those, grab them; they are very pricey. Also, they would have had matching tops. So possibly your find had a broken top, and was discarded. Lucky you! Like your "shop with you" videos, always with creative ideas. Enjoy your family vaca🤗
Oh my gosh DREW!!! So much fun. Enjoyed watching you discover all of those great pieces. Thank you another awesome video. Stay well❤️cat xxx
I would love to see the artwork you put in your gilded frames and how they are presented on the wall. Great finds!
Your wooden chair is one my Mom had in its heyday, and it's 'early American' style!
The yellowish colored square dish you picked up is a refrigerator dish that would have had a lid to it. I have one in clear glass. This is what people used to store food before plastic came along. A good thing to go back to.
You are so talented, inspired and adorable you percolate enthusiasm and creativity and we love you.
Hope you enjoy your break away. I really enjoyed the vlog going to the different stores.
Thanks so much!
It’s crazy. You can buy new lamps for that price. I don’t like when thrift stores do that. I want to go in and find good deals. Is it because it’s L.A.? Love the dresser tho. Great deal on that.
no it’s because devaluation and inflation
I love when thrift shops (op-shops, in AU) sell stuff that didn't sell, cheap-- yet it's the best stuff!
Love it when you get so excited it so cute!!!
absolutely LOVE that black leather chair ! so jealous, it’s a great find for a great price !!
My goodness I'm jealous of what your thrift store has!
love you Drew!! you’re amazing! i hope you and your family enjoy your vacation!!
So much fun shopping with u Drew🥰
I LOVE thrift with mes!!
I was giggling a little when you were discussing the “vase” 😂 I guess you don’t commonly see spittoons anymore 😂 I was drooling over that pink crystal bowl 😭😭 I wish I could of reached through the screen and grabbed it! LOVE your videos especially thrift decor ones!!!
I have never heard of a spittoon prior to uploading this video 😂😂😂
I wanted that pink crystal bowl, too!
I also wanted that pink crystal bowl
the pink hobnail glass bowl was so pretty!
@@lonefox I was going to tell you it was a spittoon. 😀
I love the way you incorporated the new pieces into your home - amazing eye!
Thanks so much! 😊
ROTFL @ your cute self calling the spittoon a “vase”. Adorable !!!!! Love you dude !
That brass vase is actually a vintage spittoon.
"I thought he was gonna maybe steal me" LOL I'm glad you made it out unscathed!
I love everything you picked out!
Love your excitement for thrifting!!!
That is a brass spittoon. My dad collects them. He has some that are worth almost 800 dollars. He has about 50 or so in his collection
That "baking situation" container with the lock top is a cheese crock.
Great stuff to see at the thrift stores. At the last one, the pot is a bean pot without the lid and the yellow glass square is a leftover storage container without the lid. I actually have the yellow container with the lid.
Love the black chair, it’s just so fun
a bowl/basket/anything meant to hold things: *exists*
drew: oh my god this would be SUCH a cute pendant light!!!

‘Vase’ is a spittoon!!!
I enjoy your channel. Helps me up date my house and I go thrifting to switch things out. I am older with a great grandkid so I enjoy your channel. I know your parents must be so proud of you. You are so good at this. I get lots of ideas and how to at a affordable price too. I binge watch you allot of the time.
That last little tiny vase would be cute to store long matches and you could add a light grit sandpaper disc on the base for a striker. Love it!
That wood chair gave me a strong “high school theatre” flashback.
This wooden chair is called Bonanza in Poland, guess why 😉
how funny! i know why, i think.
You are so cheerful and fun. A real pleasure to watch you do your thrifting.
Love watching you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and enthusiasm.
Yes Dear, it is a spittoon, It is what people spit into that chew tobacco or dip snuff.
Totally a spittoon.
" I got the chair running through Los Angeles." 😂
Thank you again. Kudos on your energy and I really do enjoy your posts, especially your shopping videos and follow up restyling. Cheers from Canada
The square glass you put your Polaroids in is a piece of 1940's, 1950's refrigerator glass. They have covers so keep an eye out for that. Mostly used for butter. I have 2 one is that color. The one I use is clear with fruit relief on it. Good for homemade fruit preserves for toast.
