EXAMPLE you got some milk that's still do-able for a few more hours and enough eggs left for pancakes and an omelet and some fruit that just passed it's peak. So today you eat pancakes, tomorrow an omelet, and you hope the apples survive 2 more days so you can eat the day after. It makes the difference between February and March. Those 28 days help stretch your buck, but the 31 after can be rough.
