It's actually a breeze. It just wipes clean. I've used it constantly since I got it -- made fruit pies and meat pies -- and nothing has stuck to the pan. This is a wonderful machine. The only drawback: I'm eating too much pie!

I had mines now for three months and I made homemade chicken pot pies, meat pies, desserts and they turned out great. I love my pie maker, did not like making them in my muffin tins.

I have a feeling that the filling not only needs to have been previously cooked, but it should already be hot when you put it in there. I think this machine just toasts the dough. And yeah, the crust was a bit overcooked.

Abbey K -- you are right, it's all fake. The appliance is not plugged in, the light doesn't go on when she closes the pie maker. Then they cut -- and she opens the pie maker (light still not on) and out comes perfect pies.

Did anyone notice that the pie maker isn't plugged in. If the pie maker was hot the pastry would have started to sink in almost instantly.
Anyway, can't cook if not plugged in.

Long time to wait for a response, but think of it this way. Quiches don't have a pastry top, so the heat is transferred directly to the eggs, and they don't take too long to cook.

  • @Tatjanak1989

hi! do you always pre-cook everything? if i added ham and onions, for example, i would pre cook those. but if i added a cheese-and-egg mix: do i just pour that over the mixture and it would harden enough to eat?
plus: i make a chicken pie that has a lot of thickened sauce "within it" and i'm worried it'll soak through the dough. does that ever happen?
