  • The JGMaker (previously JGAurora) is an amazing and underrated high volume 3D printer. But how's it stack up against similarly capable 3D printers? Let's find out.

    That clip to hold the build plate looks like a clip used to keep cans of paint closed during shipping.

    Nice video! I love this printer. The build volume is huge and the printing quality is great! Likewise it is difficult for me to stop printing with it! 😅

    Just bought this along with a Anycubic Photon S with the Anycubic wash and cure 2.0. Huge leap for me because I've never 3D printed before and only been thinking about it for about 4 years. But I needed a thing to do other than video games to feel relatively productive.

    I've loved mine for the past six months. Great printer. I would HIGHLY recommend everyone get a PEI sheet to place on the bed.

      Pla doesn't get soft as easily as some say. It's fine for most applications.

    I purchased a broken A5S a couple of months ago and after waiting on various parts have if fully functional at least mechanically. I've been doing some test prints using Cura and the quality seems decent except for the fact that I have stringing issues. I was wondering what temp/retraction speed/retraction rate you use since you seem to have such great prints. Any advise would be appreciated as well as any other setting suggestions. Thanks!

    • @3dpprofessor
      @3dpprofessor  Před 3 lety +1

      For stringing? That's related to your filament. Get the temp down and retraction up.

    Hello, I am brand new to 3D Printing and before I discovered this review, I was considering the Ender 3 V2. My primary purpose for wanting to get a 3D printer is to print custom inserts and organizers for my board games such as Twlight Imperium 4, Gloomhaven, etc. Is this a good printer for my purposes or should I go with more of a budget Ender or something?

    • @3dpprofessor
      @3dpprofessor  Před 3 lety +1

      It really depends on you. The less you pay, the more likely you're gonna be fiddling more with the printer than using it. Some consider that a plus.
      In general I tell people buy as much 3D printer as you can afford.

    Do you have a problem with the cable from Extruder when you start printing a large object? My cable is more folding and not going up so it will get jam in the frame.

    • @3dpprofessor
      @3dpprofessor  Před 4 lety

      Yes. That's probably what happened with the helmet I printed, but no idea what the solution quite would be. Something to keep the cable going up and going straight from the hot end I would think.

    They need to catch up to the rest of 3d printing market and make an A5S S Pro one now.

    I have found your printer reviews very balanced and interesting. Why does this printer require you to load filament from the rear? I would not buy a laser printer that required me to move the printer around to load paper from the rear. I have had my Robo 3D r1+ for 5 1/2 years with pretty much plug and play printing and automatic bed leveling. I do have to rotate the printer 180 degrees to change filament which is it’s biggest weakness. I considering buying a new 3D printer, but I want something that is better than what I currently have. Any recommendations?

    Hi, I loved your video. Excuse me. I have the same printer but honestly, I'm new to the subject and I don't have much experience, it would be a lot of annoyance. If you could pass me on, your cura settings would be very helpful for a newbie thanks

    • @3dpprofessor
      @3dpprofessor  Před 2 lety

      Shouldn't be a need. Cura has settings for the JGAurora A5s. (That's what the company was named before the rebrand.)

    One thing I don't like is the filament change. When you start let say filament in the temp. goes to 195 deg so if you have filament like Petg you can't change to higher temp. same with Filament in. There is also no cancel of that operation so I had to turn of the printer. Then I had to go manually to change temp to 235 deg. and then Pull out or pull in the filament by hand.
    That's the worst what I don't like.
    Plus The spool holder is not what I could use so I created my own "www.thingiverse.com/thing:4355471"

    Why hasn't anyone come up with some AI to identify failing prints and stop them continuing?
    Now that's off my chest!
    Joe those clips are frameless picture clips and have been around since gods dog was a pup LOL, although the community has been slow to adopt them the community started using them before the manufacturers did, as far as I am aware.

      Octoprint Spaghetti Detective.
      IMHO it wouldn't need to check much. Just take a picture after every layer and maker sure it hasn't changed more than 5%, and if it has, let you know and throw you a message or something.
