Azura tried to scarf her, her one chance, for 6 minutes then after that it was all Kelly. Ir was a unanimous decision.

I mean it's a fight the only thing that matters is who actually won. Doesn't matter if you only had control for 5 sec because that's all it took for the win. Miura lost no matter how you cut it.

@@unholypreist6731 Referee warned Kelly twice about eye gouging, 2nd was a "final warning." Clawing skin is a foul too under most grappling rules, clawing and biting usually listed. A yellow card for foul negates a "catch" point. Number of catches then aggression are the 2 criteria given for One grappling judging.

"Control time" is not part of the criteria for judging ONE's grappling matches. Submission Only. Yellow Cards for stalling. If a match ends without a submission, the athlete with the most number of real submission attempts wins.
D's submissions were more threatening I believe, so they gave her the W. Props to Miura

Mount & back control are the 2 most dominant positions in grappling. Muira never achieved either. Kelly achieved both. She also was the closest to a submission. Get over it people.
None of that matters in One Championship Grappling rules. BJJ rules do not speak for world of Grappling, they give points based on what they like/ prioritise as a style. Coming from old Judo, BJJ points came to follow the Kosen rules priorities, though Kosen never gave points the tactics were almost identical. According to One rules, Miura would appear to be the winner, I catch each, Miura more aggressive...
"Judges will award the victory to the athlete with the greater number of catches. If there are an equal number of catches or no catches, the athlete determined to have shown more aggression will win. "

I get it need to be a bit aggressive in grappling but that was a bit too much and not necessary. I was truly shocked that they gave her the win.
Miura clearly won this and kelly was clawing and being too aggressive, the refs and judges need to do better, Not a fan of kelly at all this is crazy this win should have went to Miura %100 tough fighter even with this savage Kelly.

Idk why there's so much controversy over this match. Miura was strong and competitive, but according to OneFC's submission grappling rules, Danielle CLEARLY won this match clean.
"Three judges score the bout by the number of catches, or "legitimate" submission attempts. If there are an equal number of catches, the grappler who was awarded the last catch will be named the winner. If there are no catches, the judges will award victory to the athlete who showed more aggression."
danielle did NOT clearly win this battle she even got a warning about the gouging so the referee acknowledged it officially it just wasn't strict enough, i've seen fights where gouging automatically get a yellow card

How the fight ends is more important than how the fight starts. Danielle controlled her opponent and came much closer to finishing at the end of the fight. Danielle earned the win. If you tally the points under IBJJF rules, Danielle would have won too.
Nothing in One rules says end is more important, only number of submissions attempts. It is not IBJJF rules, under Quintet rules Miura would have won, but was not those rules either. Under One rules Miura won imo.

Everybody on this thread must have watched another match. Ayaka blew her one shot and Kelly controlled her from that point on. I give Ayaka credit for hanging in the there. This wasn't an easy win for hKelly, but she clearly won. Plus, this was a catchweight fight. Azura was 19 pounds heavier, real weight. However, I do agree that ONE promotes fighters. It just didn't happen this time.
What 19lbs you're talking about? It's only 3lbs difference just so you know.
Ayaka fought as low as 110lbs, she is very small and never cut for 115lbs. In One everyone fights a div up so Ayaka put on weight, not good weight I felt. She was struggling all fight camp not to lose weight and was on 119lbs 3 days early, eating rice to keep size. Plus Kelly was way more dehydrated weigh ins despite being 2.5lbs lighter. Every opponent Kelly fought in One was a natural 115lb fighter or smaller.
