In today's video I headed up North too Nottingham to go and visit Eco Tree Lithium. These guys were awesome as we were able to upgrade my battery and electrical system to allow me to spend more time off grid. They really know there stuff and it was great to spend a couple of days picking there brains and trying to get a much better standing of this all.

Expensive setup, but you are right, lithium is the way to go. I used recycled 18650 cells from the netherlands though and got 1 kWh for around 150 Eur. Your battery is strong enough to run the heater fan for around one hour. But you can use a 240V heating blanket (80W) all night. You should buy an adapter for BEV charging stations (e.g. from amazon), then you can get power even outside the campgrounds. They charge about 50 Eurcent per kwh but you can run the electric heater all night if necessary.
You said in the video about using the Inverter to give 230v power so that you can charge your laptop. As the inverter uses power itself then you can save this powerloss by finding a 12v charger adapter for your laptop, so that you can charge the laptop directly from the 12v battery.

It is hard when you are invested in something, not just financially but emotionally, as we do with projects, to separate yourself and not get disheartened when things aren't going well. Well-done chap you won't regret lithium! I put 300ah worth of lithium on my boat even with meagre winter solar runs everything and still adds charge! Not run the engine for a couple of months now! Amazingly energy dense you will be unrestricted power wise compared to lead acid or AGM enjoy! 😁😁

Thanks for video, fantastic information , I'm starting my own build this year with zero £££££ LOL , the reason is I struggle with mental health , so I'm need to finish my project just to fight back myself doubt, that always destroys me , thank you
Lithium batteries basically have around a 5v working range, as opposed to a 1v or less range than agm etc. When they're at say 10.8v (which would be permanently damaging to any other type of leisure battery) they still operate/put out >12.8v. Marvellous bits of kit

I just want to mention make sure you can isolate the battery quickly in an emergency and have the correct type of fire extinguisher handy.
That’s one huge battery
Nothing extinguishes lithium ion unfortunately. You can get lith-ex but they’re basically for drill batteries at a push and they’re proper expensive units
@@gmcdon the extinguisher is reccomend as the electrics are close to the bed I just think a decent extinguisher will give extra seconds to aid evacuation in an emergency.I think dry powder will be adequate to suppress flames initially
@@chox2001 I’m a fire extinguisher tech. ABC gets everywhere and not always the best choice. Probably use a CO2 if you wanted to cover the electrics.

Will has a Victron Orian DC to DC charger fitted so it will put up to 30Amps charging current into the battery when the engine is running in an alternator friendly way.
Gotta say the van is coming along nicely... Always going to have ups and downs. Take care will. 👍

I'm so glad you're in a better frame of mind than last week. It was really upsetting to see you so abjectly down-oh how a week can change how you feel-which is great.I wish I'd had the budget to go lithium but after I bought the van I had a limited budget and could only go AGM. my main thing was to improve my mental health by travelling in the van. One day I'll upgrade but for now, this week should see my van finished so I can use it. Keep your chin up and here's a saying I saw on the Dubventures channel "I want to travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape me"

Everyone feels beaten about at times...glad to see you handling it...I also deal with it too...I got lucky with my Chinese diesel heater...mine has been working for 3 years now...even thru the Great Texas Deep Freeze of 2021...loving the new electrics...perfect! Can't wait to see your new videos.

someone got a new coat lol , and we lost 9 stone we weight by replacing our lead-acid batteries, also we increases the amp hrs by double , SO DOUBLE POWER 3/4 LESS WEIGHT that's a winner

I see my suggestion to get help worked for you, I’m not taking credit, I’m sure others suggested it as well, I’m just to fucking lazy to read everyone’s comment, I doubt you even saw mine. But it is re-enforcement for me (because I suffer from many of the same anxiety causing disturbances you are dealing with) that when you feel like you’re drowning, don’t get timid and refuse to ask for help. So gla you found the guys at EcoTree Lithium and they agreed to assist you.
So glad to see there is a turn around for you. WE learn with you and at times we need to bite the bullet and pay the professional to get it done. It can just be too stressful for us when that is not our forte'. This has all been very interesting. Looking forward to see what happens next.

Well done, getting the professional help to install electrical items and going lfp lithium. If I can add one thing for added safety as this is all just under your very flammable bed, I would fireproof line your ‘garage as much as possible, including under your bed but also includes ventilation for keeping those items cool during warm/hot weather etc, as well as ventilation for your mattress. Great vid

Ciao! Greetings from italy! Hey have you heard about a 12v rice cooker? It's a life saver for me when me and my kids went car camping. I can cook rice while driving and it will be ready by the time we arrived in our destination. It has a locking lid feature for safety. It can also cook other things like a slow cooker. I baked bread in it one time and cooked meat and vegetables casserole style. You can find it on eBay or Amazon and they are not expensive. I bought mine for €20 on ebay 8 years ago. It served us well when we went to iceland for a week. It was also my emergency cooker when we had no electricity in our home for 24 hours. I really enjoyed watching your video. It all started when I am doing research for trekking to Mt. Everest and I stumbled in your channel. And your videos are very informative and as well as entertaining. Keep it up, cheers!
