10 Things I hate About You Filming Locations

- 10 Things I hate About You directed by: Gil Junger and written by: Karen McCullah and Kristen Smith. Starring the late Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Larisa Oleynik.
This movie was adapted from a William Shakespeare's play "The Taming Of The Shrew"....so finding the perfect location was key. Originally set to film in LA, but after seeing pictures of Stadium High school, the entire cast moved to Seattle. All locations were in Seattle, and Tacoma, WA.
I want to thank the faculty at Stadium High school for all their help. Especially to Tamera Fowler, and Lorraine Harvey. You ladies made this visit to the school so wonderful! I really hop you all enjoy this video, and I apologize for any inconsistency, I'm certainly no movie location expert, just have a passion for the industry.
I also have more footage of inside the school, so please let me know, if anyone would want me to upload a video just of that.

This is so amazing, thank you for making it. I graduated in 99, the year this came out...so it’s always been very nostalgic for me. And it’s just a fantastic movie in general, with excellent writing and characters. It always brings me back to being that age; being in high school in the late 90s ☺️

Same here 99 grad, senior year half days... Spent mornings at the theatres 10 things and Cruel Intentions came out the same month that year.. Always thought that castle looking school was pretty awesome👍 this film was also my 1st intro to stiles and heath(RIP)thanks so much for the walkthrough and the memories!!

We got a Brand new Moderate / Conservative Mayor 2 years ago & The City has been cleaned up Big Time! A few Large CZcamsrs have come to town to film & comment on how Clean The City Looks !!
Was talking to my wife about my friend's sister who was an extra in the movie (you can see her dancing next to the main characters at 14:15). Brought me here.

You're so lucky to have been able to go inside! I'm seriously jealous right now. RIP to Heath Ledger though. This was by far his best film next to playing the Joker for Batman. I used to live in Tacoma and right after I saw the movie I drove to find this high school.
do you have to ask to be able to access the field of stadium high school? usually there's a fence that blocks people from getting access on the actual field. this looks so fun.
Not sure where you are from but snow is not that rare in Tacoma in the winter.... And the school is in the city of Tacoma. I know you know that but it seems like a lot of out of towners use the city names interchangeably. They are quite different but I understand Hollywood tends to merge the two cities.

Yeah it was an honest mistake because I was on a work trip trying to get to as many spots as possible so saying something out loud that isn’t correct is quite common especially when you’re not from there. Also I just love snow I didn’t mean to make it look like it was rare. I was just happy to see it.
My friends and I had a water balloon fight there for the 20th anniversary and then got Dicks Burgers and had lunch at the troll while jamming to the soundtrack. Later, we watched "The Real World: Seattle" to end the day :)

I can’t really remember right now whether or not the pole was still there, but i can tell you that whole side was changed and it had new look

I never went Stadium High school I have A Nephew Who had bck when 2007 a girl he was dating is now married to with a cute little boy she told me that the outside of they School Was big ya could walk from one end to another good way to lose weight loss if ya needed pluse ya could get lost just walking around outside same with the inside of the school it is a big school inside and out
