Thank you for your very useful and fun review. I am looking carefully at the deck several different ways, and even at 50 bucks I think it is really unusual and has good character for my Marseilles days. I agree with you, it is not gruesome or dark. Just beautiful colors in the proper style, and the pips are gorgeous. Those Aces! Color palette rocks! As you say, elegant. TY!
Hello Elle I fall'in love with the Tarot Noir and I have purchased few months ago one copy and it is it so so beautifull the only thing it is that the book it is not a very good quality. When I start to learn with tarot my first deçk it was with the Marseilles deck & the Etteilla deck of course as I am french. After several years I discover the Rider Wait Smith and it was the reveleation for me as we use can read with all the 78 tarot cards. French use to read only with the 22 majors arcana Marseilles deck. And now I read tarot with the two dofferent school. Thanks so much for your acurate reviews. i am a grand fan of your video. awesome! thanks for watching. I love sort of integrating and putting together the different schools of thought and ways of interpreting the cards into ur own unique understanding. I'll take Marseille and paps and eteilla and rws and use them all, or bits and pieces from each, u know! soooo fun! and I think Marseille decks in general r great for this bc ur not pulled too much into one direction. xo

it's so hard to find books on the Tdm trad., at least ones in English and not french anyway. my all time favorite is jodorowsky's the way of tarot. also I've been looking at MARSEILLE TAROT: TOWARDS THE ART OF READING by Camelia Elias, but haven't picked it up so I can't really comment on it yet, but I've heard really good things! good luck
Have you got the Ancient Italian tarot? If so what's the card stock like? Lo scarabeo card stock is usually quite poor but this deck keeps calling me. Yeah tarot noir is a gorgeous deck, I've added this to my wishlist, I just wish it was standard tarot size. Thanks
the ancient Italian tarot I have is your standard lo scarabeo cardstock but, for me anyway, it doesn't bother me at all. their cardstock is still shuffle-able and they hold up really well over time. good luck with it. thanks for watching :) xo

I think this is the only Marseille deck I have every really liked. It goes on and off my wish list a lot.

The text in the book give you only an historical explanation about the symbols on the cards, but nothing about their meanings.
