Destiny 2 OOB: Reaching the Dreaming City from the Moon (Shrine of Oryx Ascendant Realm via IRB)

- Interdimensional Rez Breaching strikes again, this time taking us into the Dark Monastery replica in Shrine of Oryx. This one took a while to figure out...
For those that aren't aware, for the intro mission of Season of the Hunt, Bungie created a copy of the Dreaming City Ascendant Realm from the week 3 mission and placed it inside of the Shrine of Oryx region on the moon. You go through it in the mission where you first encounter the High Celebrant of Xivu Arath, before meeting Crow. You go there once, and can never revisit it. But that's not our style ;)
Working out how to get there took a fair bit of time. Back during Season of the Hunt, I recorded it's direction and approximate distance using the mission, DARCI, and some help from Bachmanetti and Nev. This season, with the IRB shenanigans, I realized it would likely be possible, and explored two possible candidate locations to breach to. The first target was a mysterious platform out in the distance, and the second was attempting a direct leap. The direct path would connect via Enduring Abyss, but was too difficult to work out precisely, and likely too much of a height distance.
We made an accurate map using the IRB box breach in Hellmouth, using some sparrow flying to give a map dot to someone in Enduring Abyss. Though the map is hidden, you can still see allies on the radar. The results were impressive, but ultimately didn't help us get there.
For the first target, which ended up working, we triangulated it to a region overlapping with Catacombs, although somewhere above ground level. With some help from the talented Monteven, we were able to improve our approximate location to find a precise point that would work.

This was probably from season of the hunt, we hunt down the celebrant in the dreaming city with the same ascendant challenge. It makes sense to add it to the moon also as this was where the opening mission was, maybe bungie originally planned to kill the high celebrant on the moon but moved it to the dreaming city.
We used the hunt mission to map the area, so it would make sense that it was added during that time

To be fair, I already knew it was likely there from testing with the opening Season of the Hunt mission. I'm just glad the shadows were visible or it would have been a huge pain to get to XD

So this is actually lore supported; some of Shadowkeep's weblore has Eris end up getting to the Dreaming City by traveling through Crota's Throne World. This connection is likely the same one the High Celebrant was using during the mission to evade confrontation with the Guardian.

Yup. It is indeed the same area. It was pretty neat how they kept reusing different parts of it for the final mission of the season.

I believe the random stairs and such is a modular kit it basically means you make walls and other structural stuff so you can make an entire building or interior
6:51 this area is most likely leftovers from when the map was being designed. When making a map, designers will often put prefabs out of bounds so they can copy and paste them when needed. Sometimes they forget to remove them afterwards.

I believe that’s the area you can access from the dreaming city in the area of like where one of the hunts started. Also isn’t that peak you landed near the location of the homes we collected? It doesn’t count for count but you can claim it. Or at least could at one time
this was the ascendant realm used in the mission last season where we have to save Osiris and first meet Crow

Na, I would like to say that it is mind boggling how you figure this out.
There’s a line in Coup de Grâce, I think, where Osiris notes that Xivu Arath was only taking the clearest path into the Dreaming City, one already paved and used by Savathûn; he says, “Has she no ambition?” in regard to it, so I think it is correct to assume those two map zones are meant to be the same, as Xivu Arath did indeed use lanes already made by Savathûn to invade the Dreaming City.

From the thumbnail. I thought this was the Queen’s Court in the dreaming city. Because if you ever return during height of curse week. There’s taken droplets now. Unless that’s a glitch. But I think it’s a subtle message to future content. Those droplets weren’t there before Beyond Light.

Has this been fixed froggy? Been trying it out and I keep hitting the load then dying and I see my ghost on the platform, but when I try to res it says finding res location and then spawning me inside the tube
You can't rez yourself there, you need someone else to trigger the autorez in the dungeon by dropping down into the entrance.

So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

It's already in the Dreaming City, since the beginning. It was used in the week 3 mission Dark Monastery. It's on the moon because it was used in the intro mission for that season as well. My split view section is showing the same area on patrol on Moon vs Dreaming City

Have someone drop down into Pit of Heresy to update the objective. Most stages of Pit of Heresy cause an autorez

If there's any auto rez in a strike that doesn't have a joining allies, then yeah. I'd love to know if there's any like that. Particularly outside of Europa, the Moon, and the Dreaming City, since we know auto rez's for those currently.

I'm no coding expert but trust me, code is wild. I think titanfall 2 only works because the PNG of a coconut exists in the files, and the developers cannot remove it because the game's code collapses without it.

How works the auto-res ? I'm on the platform but when I press "respawn" I respawn inside Oryx sanctuary.
the auto rez is from a raid or dungeon new objective, in this case you need to load in to pit of heresy and have someone else just wait near the start while you do all this. Once your rez is out in the right area they drop down the hole in pit and you should be rezzed out there

Respawning won't work, you need to have an ally hit a mission trigger that does an autorez. There are many in Pit of Heresy. First one is after you drop down. Second is reaching the first encounter. In fact, in Pit, most checkpoint updates are paired with an autorez.

It's the Interdimensional Rez Breach, a pretty wild bug that allows you to take a position you died in one map region, and transfer it to another, provided there is suitable ground. Almost like a teleport with extra steps.
