I absolutely hate the idea of a 10 second runoff rule for incompletions after 2 minutes. It’ll just ruin the excitement at the end of many games. I bet we have a lot less successful 2 minute drives with it and that just hurts the game.

NateBee, you have to think and make sure a team has smart players on the field and not make those mental mistakes. This 2024 season keep track of those metal mistakes made by your team which cost the TEAM a game.

Its been this way on Sunday for a very long time, at least 20 years. Ive seen games end on false starts under 10s with no timeouts. Ive seen games end (Atlanta @ Detroit 2016? 2017?) end because the last play caused a booth replay which triggers a 10s run off. It doesnt ruin games. It is a penalty to prevent a team taking a penalty to stop the clock when they have no time outs.

Deliberate pass interference to limit a potential 50-yard pass completion into a 15-yard penalty is bush league. The Long Bomb used to be a much more frequent play under the old rules. A slippery playing surface should never be the leading tackler in a game.

What if al of the media timeouts have been used before the 2 minute warning in the 4th quarter? Each team is expecting a one-minute timeout to discuss strategy but if the media has used all its timeouts, they don't get that. Sounds unfair, doesn't it?
I still don't understand why the clock only stops on 1st down in the last 2 minutes of a half? Is there a different game played then? There are other last-2-minute rules that I don't understand. Now, it might still play, after the hemmorhoid cream commercial with the smiling lady, but that's not what you wanted.
